Sr Manager Geospatial

Manager Geospatial Reporting to the Director of Service Expansion, the Sr.

Manager will be responsible for developing and supporting a variety of initiatives meant to identify and highlight network expansion opportunities.

The successful candidate must have an unwavering attention to detail, an insatiable desire to find innovative solutions to complex problems, tolerance for data ambiguity, and a proven track record of working with large, complex datasets within a geospatial framework.

An understanding of telecommunications networks is an asset.

Team leadership is an asset.

– Identify and highlight network expansion opportunities through geospatial analysis and insight
– Manage a team of Geo-spatial analysts and managers across the country
– Uncover actionable, value-added opportunities to drive revenue growth, improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
– Act as a liaison between the GIS team, regional spokes and various cross-functional groups
– Filter, clean and transform data into information, insight, and actionable business decisions using geospatial ETL tools
– Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources to create novel aggregate datasets as necessary
– Develop and manage proof of concepts (POCs)
– Track project progress and communicate results with stakeholders and senior leadership
– Perform ad-hoc analysis and provide recommendations and insight Qualifications
– Post-secondary education in Mathematics, Statistics, Information Management, Computer Science or Geographic Sciences
– At least 5-10 years in a similar role
– Knowledge of telecommunication networks an asset
– Advanced GIS software knowledge; e.g., MapInfo, QGIS, ESRI, etc.

– Knowledge of data visualization software an asset; e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, etc.

– Advanced knowledge of geospatial ETL software; e.g., FME
– Experience creating layers and customizing Web Applications; e.g., MapGuide Open Source and PHP
– Highly refined analytical and programming skills
– Proficiency in SQL and experience working with Oracle and Hadoop databases
– Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
– Excellent written and oral communication
– Solid relationship building and influencing skills, with a proven ability to work within a team
– Self-starter with proven organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
– Exceptional planning and project management skills
– Strong sense of ownership, drive and desire As a condition of hire, all new employees will be required to provide proof of vaccinations against COVID 19.
