The Senior IT Security Consultant will be a technology leader and manage, design and administer Cyber Security services.

The Sr.

IT Security Consultant will work with project teams and resources to ensure that information and information technology security policies and best practices are followed as systems, products and services are designed, built, deployed and upgraded to safeguard our information and client’s information.

Your Chance to Shine: Specific Accountabilities
•Manage, design and administer security services and ensure the security posture of the eHealth Ontario environment
•Work with teams to ensure logical access to data centre services is provided in a controlled and secure manner
•Troubleshoot and resolve security issues, including providing 7×24 hour coverage on a rotating on call basis
•Participate in solutions testing with various project teams to provide security requirements and design support
•Participate or lead in testing, evaluation, upgrade and implementation of new and existing security applications/solutions to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities
•Provide on-going maintenance, monitoring and incident handling of our security technology
•Maintain and support intrusion detection system (IDS) and immutable logging implementation and mission critical systems on an ongoing basis
•Perform vulnerability assessments and security testing
•Provide guidance to day-to-day security application and infrastructure support to ensure security processes meet eHealth Ontario standards
•Create, document, and assess operational security processes and procedures in order to comply with established policies and standards
•Participate in Change Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management, and Inventory Management activities based on the ITIL framework
•Provide support in security analysis and MIS reporting for operational management
•Develop, communicate, and enforce the operational security policies of the eHealth Ontario’s business enterprise.

•Perform a security (e.g., asset, attack, threat, risk, and vulnerability) analysis of the; Systems, Applications, Components (Data , Hardware, Software) and Centers (Contact Centers, Data Centers)
•Elicit, analyze, specify, and manage the security requirements for individual applications, components, and centers.

•Help trainers develop training materials in security.

Your Skills Make the Difference: Experience
•5 to 7 years in IT security principles, practices, technologies, programs and procedures is accompanied by an understanding (preferably) of ISO17799/27001 standards, and ability to perform vulnerability assessments, forensic and risk analysis Technical Knowledge & Skills Hands on experience with Checkpoint Firewalls and Security blades (IPS, DLP, Sandblast) or Palo Alto FWs.

Hands on experience with vulnerability scanners such as Nessus, Qualys or QVM Previous experience with SIEM tools such as Qradar is desirable
•Expert knowledge of and experience with security engineering tasks, techniques (e.g., passwords, encryption/decryption, digital signatures), and tools.

•Expert knowledge of security testing tasks, techniques, and tools.

•Solid knowledge of requirements engineering tasks, techniques, and tools (with emphasis on analyzing and specifying security requirements such as identification, authentication, authorization, content protection, privacy, integrity, intrusion detection, non-repudiation, and system maintenance).

•Solid knowledge of security countermeasures (e.g., architectural mechanisms and components such as firewalls).

– Experience with endpoint technologies such as Traps and Carbon Black
•Solid knowledge of applications, contact centers, and data centers.

•Basic knowledge of the customer’s business and application domain(s).

•Solid teamwork
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Polished communications skills (oral and written)
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team Education
•University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline preferred
•At least one Security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC, etc.
