About the role We are looking for high performing Senior Project Manager
– Civils to manage and execute civil works to support multiple developments across the delivery programme.
You will be reporting to the Project Lead
– Civils and Regional and be working as part of a larger team to support the Development Managers, Design Managers and other vertical Project Managers to ensure the key strategic development projects are delivered consistently to the required Metlifecare time, budget and quality standards.
Meeting the agreed development programme dates, design criteria and ensuring that financial outcomes meet Board Approvals and Development Feasibility thresholds is a key component.
Some of the responsibilities for this role include: Ensure civil design and construction aligns with Metlifecare design standards and documentation and defects are dealt with in a timely manner.
Ensure collaborative work with the design and delivery team to ensure cost effectiveness and buildability issues are planned and implemented at the highest standard.
Manage project risks through proactive identification and mitigation
– no surprises approach.
Ensure clear scope delineation between civil and vertical design and construction packages.
Develop and interrogate the project programme to ensure projects are tracking well and identify time saving opportunities Support the Development Manager in leading a team of consultants and stakeholders through the design and consenting process, including closely coordinating with vertical design managers and project managers.
Ensure uplift and close-out of all required building consents, engineering approvals and statutory approvals.
About You You’ll have commercial property development / project management experience and will hit the ground running with drive and direction.
Things that will support your application: Strong relevant civil project management experience with a formal/professional qualification in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Valuation, or a related discipline.
Wholistic understanding of development from concept design through to consenting, procurement and construction including the ability to develop an overall delivery programme An understanding of regulatory frameworks and requirements such as Resource Consents, Building Consents and Engineering Plan Approvals and the ability to review and QA design and construction documentation for accuracy and completeness Knowledge and understanding of tendering and procurement processes as well as NZS3910 Contract documents and contract administration Ability to review, analyse, and drive a construction contract successfully through to completion, assess variations and extensions of time Conflict resolution through the 319X series of contracts.
