Senior Consultant, Tax


This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted October 1, 2021.

The International Money Movement Systems (IMMS) is a custom module installed in Oracle E-Business Suite, an industry leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application, which interfaces ADP’s internal payroll systems with external financial partners for payroll related disbursements in international locations.

The platform is currently fully functional for Canada, UK.

IMMS is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all clients’ employee and employer Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT / ACH), Cheque disbursement, collection activity (EFT / ACH / Wire), Tax and Third Party remittance services, accounting and reconciliation activities, risk review, revenue recognition (including foreign exchange) and short term cash forecasting for ADP’s international operations.

Currently the IMMS platform processes transactional activities of over 133 Billion Dollars (50,000 clients) for Canada and 15 Billion Euros (5,000 Clients) for Europe.

Position Summary The Tax team is responsible for monitoring, processing, and remitting more than 62 Billion dollars annually to Government Agency Partners for ADP clients across all payroll platforms.

The Tax team is responsible for all employer level tax exceptions, actioning internal and external client requests, preparing, and transmitting tax remittances accurately and timely to ensure compliance with all Government requirements.

The Tax Consultant will act as the subject matter expert for any Tax project initiatives as well as be the point of escalation in the absence of the Manager for all critical and sensitive issues.

In addition to projects this role will focus on workflow oversight, support, and performance management of the Tax Team.

Other duties will include coaching of staff, BPI, reporting and liaising with other ADP business units on behalf of IMMS.

Duties and Responsibilities Operations Coordinate with Leadership and support all daily functions for department.

Identifying planning and implementing key tax projects to improve tax processes, reduce cost, and increase productivity and cycle time.

Responsible for planning and overseeing projects that impact the Tax teams’ processes.

Monitor and track project progress while keeping leaders and stakeholders informed.

Coaching and Development Coaching of associates on performance standard,soft skills, Individual Development Plan (IDP), succession planning, talent management and performance management.

Design annual departmental objectives in line with corporate goals and divisional initiatives in collaboration with Manager.

Regular reporting on performance trends and talent assessment with leadership of Tax Team.

Relationship Management Responsible for Relationship Management between internal and external clients, Canadian and International ADP stakeholders and global institutions.

Maintain close working relationships with Service Delivery Leadership to assist in escalation resolution and exception processing.

Regularly coordinate with Banking, Funding, Credit and NSF departments to resolve escalated client issues and obtain resolution.

Maintain relationships with representatives from Government Agencies to ensure tax remittance processes remain efficient, compliant, and effective.

Case Resolution Ensure all case management and documentation is accurate and in accordance with preset SLAs.

Review and oversight on use of current ADP CRM Tool.

Management of business process and definition of SLAs for all offerings by the Tax Team.

Senior point of escalation for client IMMS issues and providing timely resolution via collaboration with internal and external clients, ADP stakeholders, senior management and business partners.

Risk Management Ensure all financial control policy and procedures are followed in accordance with ADP compliance requirements.

Remain informed on new and updated legislation impacting employer requirements.

Qualifications Education: Post Secondary Education or equivalent experience Finance/Banking and/or Leadership training preferred Knowledge, Experience, and Skills: Required : Advanced experience in operational processing and control procedures Project Management/implementation experience
– demonstrated ability to co-ordinate work initiatives C.
