On Demand Last Mile Logistics Manager

This role requires the ability to balance daily execution and the implementation of Goodfood’s last mile strategy.

The Manager of Logistics is responsible for overseeing a team of Logistics Specialists and Coordinators who oversee cross-functional planning, route optimization and dispatch of last-mile activities in Toronto.

This role includes people management, process development, and project implementation: all with the objective of exceeding the delivery promise made to each of our Members.

– Areas of Responsibility Ensure on-time delivery of hundreds of boxes per day through coordination with drivers, fulfillment, and Logistics teams Lead the day-to-day operations of a team of Logistics Specialists and Coordinators, and set clear expectations for them by regularly measuring performance, sharing feedback and coaching Own on-time and cost KPIs by holding your team accountable to results and managing appropriately Act as a subject matter expert for Goodfood’s final mile network in the Toronto Area and provide guidance on optimal routes and distribution strategies Govern the implementation and adherence of operational SOPs Implement continuous improvement projects and share ideas that drive efficiencies, best practices, and cost savings across shifts and the delivery network The Ideal Candidate College or university with a degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or other relevant area of study.

MBA or Master’s degree is considered an asset.

3-5 years experience in supply chain, operations, or logistics 1 years experience in a management position Experience in final mile or on-demand delivery from an operations, planning or consulting capacity Skills & Capabilities KPI fixated leader and manager
– You have experience coaching and keeping colleagues and direct reports accountable to high standards through continuous feedback Fluent in Excel (or any other tool)
– You have a proven ability to develop creative solutions with existing tools and are comfortable learning new technologies Nimble and resilient — You have the ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations Team builder— You have previous success interviewing, hiring, conducting performance management, developing, and terminating employees to build and maintain an all-star team Detail oriented
