Manager, Communications (9 month contract)

To learn more about CIBC, please visit Job Description What You’ll Be Doing As the Manager, Communications you will be primarily responsible for developing, managing and delivering effective, timely, compliant and cost-effective advisor and client communications to support CIBC Wealth Management’s distribution channels.

You are a stellar project manager, and have an understanding of our industry.

You will also develop an understanding of the varied and complex audiences the Communications Team supports.

You will work closely with the various teams within CIBC Wealth Management, such as: other members of the Communications team, various marketing and sales support teams, product teams, digital and eBusiness, Legal/Compliance, Portfolio Management and Research and mid-to-senior levels of management.

How You’ll Succeed Communication Campaigns & Programs
– Write timely content to support the delivery and quality of advisor and client communications, including: executive communications, client eNewsletter, product enhancements and product launches.

Develop, implement and assist in the management of marketing and communications initiatives to advance the positioning, awareness and reinforcement of the corporate brand, products and services.

Assist in the evaluation, development and implementation of a continuous value-added communications program for the benefit of segmented distribution channels.

Ensure all content is accurate and approved by appropriate stakeholders.

Complex Project Initiatives
– Participate or lead projects to introduce new communications, or upgrade existing communications, by researching relevant data and developing proposals and recommendations.

Support large, cross-functional projects as a representative of the Wealth Communications team.

Provide input into the development and implementation of communication initiatives for these projects.

Development and Implementation
– Provide key support to quarterly reporting communications initiatives across CIBC Wealth Management.

Contribute to the development and implementation of online strategies, to ensure effective distribution of communications to targeted audiences, including relevant internal social media platforms.

Identify online opportunities, and develop and implement online strategies accordingly.

Contribute to the success of CIBC Wealth Management’s eDirect, online, video and audio communications vehicles by generating industry-leading content.

Who You Are You have a bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or equivalent experience in communications within the financial services industry preferred.

You’re a certified professional.

Previous completion of Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC) Course or the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is an asset.

Financial market knowledge and an interest in communications is also a strong asset.

You have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience copywriting and editing within the marketing and communications department of a financial services provider.
