Job Description Ballet BC is seeking an experienced and passionate development professional to oversee all individual giving programs within our dynamic fundraising department.

This role reports directly to the Managing Director and leads the strategic management of these portfolios.

Responsible for the cultivation and ongoing stewardship of individual giving relationships and strategic development of major gifts, this position ensures the organization is hitting its fundraising milestones and identifying opportunities that are critical for continued growth.

The position is supported by a Development Coordinator and works closely with the Events Manager to execute donor and fundraising events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with the Managing Director to develop and implement strategies to grow revenue across individual giving campaigns; Manage the engagement, solicitation and continual stewardship of all donors with a focus on members of the Founders’ Council ($1000) and working with our Managing Director, Artistic Director and Board of Directors to manage relationships with these donors; Supervision of a part-time Development Coordinator, as well as volunteers within the department; Lead donor engagement communications, including management of digital and written fundraising collateral and execution of two annual fundraising campaigns, coordinating with marketing and audience services departments as needed; Maintain moves management through tracking of donor portfolios for the Managing Director, Artistic Director, and in some cases the Board of Directors, who are cultivating and soliciting major donors; Lead strategy and implementation of annual donor events for cultivation and stewardship; Contribute to Ballet BC’s annual gala through working with co-chairs, gala committee, Events Manager, and other external and internal stakeholders to execute a successful event; Design and implement a planned giving program that provides information about, and solicits non-cash gifts such as bequests, trusts, insurance, and stock from patrons; Manage department budget, working with Managing Director to set annual projections for each portfolio; Deliver accurate reporting, working closely with the finance department and ensuring prompt issuance of tax receipts; Oversee individual donor database, including enforcing policies on data entry and gift acknowledgement.

Requirements: Desired Qualifications: 7 years fundraising experience A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field The ability to work well both independently and within a collaborative team environment, demonstrating a positive and constructive approach to work Flexibility and tolerance for a fast paced environment that is responsive to stakeholders Experience leading a team Experience planning and executing annual campaigns Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of Patron Manager or similar CRM database preferred Knowledge of Vancouver philanthropic community preferred Familiarity with CRA regulations related to fundraising activities CFRE certification an asset Passion for dance or the performing arts is an asset Additional Info: Ballet BC is an equal opportunity employer that fosters an inclusive, equitable and accessible environment.
