Director, HR Total Rewards

555 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M5G 1X8, Canada View on Map Our Total Rewards team plays an important role in supporting the attraction, engagement, and retention of our key talent.

Reporting to the VP, Human Resources & Commercial Services and leading a team of 10 including 3 direct leadership reports, the Director, Total Rewards is accountable for working with the Hospital, HR colleagues and functional partners to deliver total rewards programs that are integrated with, and support, our strategic objectives and the Hospital’s business strategy.

Accountabilities include: Develop a comprehensive total rewards strategy that aligns employee rewards with results in support of hospital objectives Build a Total Rewards Centre of Excellence aligned with a high impact HR operating model, including efficient processes to ensure a high level of client satisfaction Establish key metrics for programs to ensure alignment and measure success Lead a team of total rewards leaders and professionals by encouraging a collaborative, values-driven team culture of high productivity and innovation in an environment that fosters team development and individual potential Operational leadership of existing programs (compensation, job framework & job evaluation, pensions, benefits) plus support for the delivery of executive compensation and reward programs Partnering with HR leadership, senior business leaders and HR Business Partners & Talent Acquisition to understand business strategy and anticipate needs to guide the total rewards team with designing programs and structures to support organizational needs Support the preparation of Total Rewards related materials (reporting, disclosure, etc.) for senior leaders Maintain knowledge of competitive practices and trends What do you bring to the role?

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field CCP certified, with CHRL & CEBS certification an asset 10 years of relevant experience (leading the design and implementation of compensation structures, policies, and governance, including experience working with job evaluation and pay equity; experience with managing benefit and retirement programs including plan design, vendor negotiations, renewals, financial analysis, and communications) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Superior written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership audiences Ability to organize and accomplish objectives independently and proactively Ability to deal with ambiguity and develop a course of action Strong project management with the ability to plan, organize and resource assignments of substantial variety and complexity Business acumen, collaboration, and client-focused mentality to develop and strengthen business relationships Ability to influence, drive decisions and lead discussions utilizing data Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment, with the ability to navigate complex issues while maintaining attention to detail Significant judgement and maturity in dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information NOTE: We also take potential into consideration.
