The Digital Benefits Assistant (DBA) program is helping our clients achieve financial security and well-being by being an integrated part of their lives, proactively providing personalized, useful and actionable information. The Campaign Designer of the Digital Benefits Assistant (DBA) Program is accountable for driving – with their agile pod team members – end-to-end delivery (from ideation to execution) of marketing campaigns in multiple channels. Team members include a Scrum Master, Marketing Strategist, Creative Designer, Performance Analyst, Email Specialist, UX Designer, and a Pod Lead.

The Campaign Developer plays a key role in designing and building a growing suite of Digital Benefits Assistant client experiences.  The Campaign Developer is specifically responsible for designing, configuring and maintaining the campaign logic in the SAS Customer Intelligence (CI) Studio tools and Outbound Marketing Automation tools aligned to the business campaign plans, learning and measurement objectives and cross-channel contact experiences.

The Agile team member embraces continuous change and the autonomy to make their own decisions without necessarily having prescriptive input from management. Team members are eager to gain cross-functional skills across different roles, so must be passionate about learning with a desire to expand both their business and technical knowledge.


  • Designs, configures and maintains campaign logic in SAS CI Studio, collaborating with technical teams to ensure optimal performance of campaigns.
  • Collaborates in an agile team to understand business objectives and develop campaign solutions that deliver best in class, engaging and highly relevant experiences
  • Develops thorough understanding of data sources available for campaigns to ensure the quality and relevance of experiences are optimized.
  • Develops expertise in the SAS CI Studio and Real Time Decision Management and outbound Marketing Automation capabilities through a progression of formal training, mentoring and on the job experience.
  • Contributes to overall campaign activities by providing accurate effort estimates, providing regular updates on progress and issues, taking accountability for milestone commitments and collaborating to resolve team challenges.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven analytical skills and application development experience are a must 
  • Knowledge of SQL and previous experience working with complex data is a must
  • Experience using inbound and outbound campaign management tools such as SAS CI Studio, IBM Unica, or others.
  • Quick learner, ability to understand and bridge between business needs and the underlying business rules and associated data 

Other Requirements:

  • Practical experience in running and monitoring inbound and outbound campaigns.  Understanding of marketing automation and real time decisioning concepts as well as campaign development cycle
  • Experience with analytics as well as inbound/outbound marketing tools like SAS CI Studio
  • Proven experience analyzing complex data sources and consolidating into meaningful information
  • SAS Customer Intelligence Studio experience in Real-Time Decision Manager would be an asset but not an essential requirement.  Training in this toolset will be a key focus in the early stages of development for this role.
  • Experience working in Financial Services with an understanding of wealth and protection products in the Canadian marketplace
  • University degree in a related field, 3-5 years of relevant work experience

Notes/Unique Requirements:

  • This role will be based out of our Waterloo, Montreal or Toronto downtown locations.  Travel between locations is required periodically
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule outside of regular business hours e.g. occasional weekend or off-peak implementation windows
