To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com Job Description What You’ll Be Doing Reporting to a Director, Business Banking, the Business Planning Consultant provides dedicated business expertise with flexible, timely advice and innovative financial solutions to assist Business Advisors and other members of the Market team in helping our Business Banking clients realize their goals.

The Business Planning Consultant does not manage a portfolio of clients as their role is to provide specialized advice to primarily augment the expertise of the Business Advisors who do directly manage the client relationship.

Working collaboratively, the Business Planning Consultant and the Business Advisor deepen client relationships with new and existing clients that require multiple, complex business solutions including Cash Management.

Leveraging their extensive network of centres of influence, this role proactively uncovers new business opportunities in the community and ensures clients’ day to day banking needs are being met at the highest level.

Through referrals and partner relationships with Banking Centres, the Business Planning Consultant will seek opportunities for new client acquisition of moderate-size businesses to deliver current financial products and solutions for the Business market segment.

The Business Planning Consultant will also be accountable for driving the overall success of the Market by assisting with complex client needs, including non-Business Advisor roles.

– 1 vacancy How You’ll Succeed Working with a team of Business Advisors to provide specialized advice and financial solutions to meet the needs of the client.

Understanding the client’s immediate and long term needs including deposit and cash management, lending, foreign exchange and other services to support the day to day management of their business.

I dentifying and providing cash management solutions including complex offers Developing credit solutions to properly meet the customer’s borrowing needs and to satisfy CIBC’s risk management policies.

Working with Business Advisors to utilize available tools (ECRM, IBIS World, Business Solutions Navigator and Client Narrative) to analyze information to assess and ultimately meet the needs of the client.

Providing advice and expertise in framing credit applications for approval including due diligence requirements Working with Business Advisors to educate clients with detailed explanations of the terms and conditions of any credit approvals to ensure understanding and adherence.

Developing and presenting proposals to meet the needs of prospects Partner with Market leadership to ensure that other roles benefit from the expertise of the Business Planning Consultant as needed, including development of Associate Business Advisors and advice to complex clients not directly assigned to Business Advisors due to geography or other reasons.

Conducting regular information sessions/seminars for relationship managers.

Proactively communicating advice to Business Advisors to keep them informed, and aware of new product options and solutions.

Staying informed with market conditions, economic trends, products and services in order to be able to provide advice to clients.

Continuously updating knowledge on cash flow and cash management solutions that offer the highest value to Business Banking clients.

Maintaining relationships with market and community leadership to ensure that clients are consistently placed in the right offer.

Building and implementing a business development plan to meet business growth objectives.

Being actively involved and visible within the community through in person and virtual channels Identifying other business opportunities for referral across CIBC Managing and minimizing the bank’s exposure to risk by ensuring compliance with regulatory activities and guidelines and by adhering to established policies, practices and procedures in order to protect our Bank, our clients and our shareholders.

Close monitoring of account activity to appropriately manage operational risks Who You Are You are knowledgeable.

You have well-developed knowledge of retail and business banking products and services including investment and lending products.

You have well-developed knowledge of a full range of business solutions and cash management products and services to fulfill client needs, and 3rd party referrals.

You have sales experience.

You have knowledge of sales practices and experience in a professional fast-paced sales and service environment, preferably in a financial and client service industry or Client Contact Center.

You’re an expert.

You have strong business industry knowledge to understand requirements of business clients.

The Business Planning Consultant has well-developed knowledge of CIBC’s business banking risk appetite for new and existing relationships.

You have knowledge of business cash flow and financial analysis in order to assess and deliver on potential new business opportunities You are engaged with the community.

You have strong networking skills sufficient to build and maintain relationships externally within the business community You have an understanding of CIBC’s operational and credit risk policies sufficient to accurately capture clients’ financial data in online systems that sound credit decisions may be made, coupled with knowledge of compliance and governance requirements of credit and operational or regulatory risk.

You are a subject matter expert .

You have knowledge of a full range of credit products / services, consumer lending practices credit analysis and compliance standards.

The Business Planning Consultant has well-developed knowledge of business banking lending practices and business banking specific products and services.

You are a strong communicator.

You have developed conversation skills and experience making proactive outbound client calls You are a bold and accountable leader.

You have demonstrated experience in coaching/mentoring others on how to use of new technology and digital platforms You put our clients first.

You have proven skills at delivering an excellent client experience within a retail environment You have strong interpersonal skills.

You establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, employees and internal/external partners.

You have the ability to develop and present proposals to prospects to achieve business acquisition targets ​ You are an influencer.

Organized and detail oriented to manage high volumes of information/cash or other financial instruments, while accurately documenting transactions.
