Associate Director, Digital Product Management

Job Summary

The Technology Division at WE is looking for an experienced Product Manager to join the Digital Product Management department as an Associate Director. Reporting to the Head of Product, the Associate Director of Digital Product Management plays an integral role in supporting WE’s digital transformation with product discipline—enabling sustainable growth and long-term scalability for the organization. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure the consistent design, development and operation of world-class quality digital products and user experiences;
  • Represent the customer/end-user and advocate for their needs in all product and businessimpacting decisions;
  • Serve as chief steward and communicator of the vision, definition and roadmap of digital products within the assigned portfolio;
  • Partner with the business unit(s) served, including secondary internal and external stakeholders, to define the business value generated through its digital products;
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with key internal personnel to ensure project scope alignment and successful execution and delivery of digital products;
  • Implement and leverage data capture and research strategies to function as subject matter expert for the business context in which the digital product operates;
  • Shape and curate an iterative product roadmap which reflects sustainable delivery of business value and success indicators aligned to key milestones and deadlines;
  • Collaborate with wider organization business units to explore potential synergies and opportunities to integrate meaningfully with broader customer journeys;
  • Assess, prototype and implement product features or improvements that further drive business value;
  • Review production and maintenance costs to assess and report on business value and return on investments;
  • Act as a leadership figure in both managing and mentoring team members and peers in product management discipline and principles, as well as partnering with the senior leadership team on developing and executing strategic initiatives for the Division and Department. 

Qualifications and Skills

  • A clear vision and standard of excellence in producing and executing on digital products;
  • Proven ability in bringing effective products to market, including associated knowledge competencies;
  • Confidence and experience communicating and collaborating closely with senior business leads and internal stakeholders to produce adaptive, results-focused solutions;
  • Capacity to harness multiple disciplines such as marketing, consumer insights, visual design and content development/management to shape digital solutions;
  • Strong leadership skills and team culture values, covering adaptability to learn and resilience to change amidst evolving market and/or business contexts;
  • Passion for innovation in social entrepreneurship and/or socially-conscious product development;
  • BS/BA or University degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Quantitative Social Sciences or similar field and/or equivalent experience. 
  • Proficiency with leading data capture and analysis operations in service of product or business performance measurement;
  • Understanding of productizing solutions at mass-market scale, including implementation of features or workflows that produce sustained user engagement;
  • Experience in Agile software development process, including knowledge of architectural paradigms, responsive web/mobile optimization, systems integration and/or web services;
  • Familiarity with user-centred design methodologies, customer research, A/B testing or similar approaches to customer validation;
  • Proficiency with web analytics and reporting;
  • Sound business acumen and/or background in strategizing around key organizational or business drivers.
