Administrative Assistant

Canada Goose inc.

This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted November 11, 2018.

Position Overview:

The Administrative Assistant will assist the VP of Design and Manager, D&M Operations in coordinating activities for the Design and Merchandising department. This person will act is the main point of contact for the department working to solve problems themselves or delegate as needed. In addition, the role provides administrative support to D&M leadership including calendar management, expense submission and organizing travel arrangements, as well as expense and travel management for the Sr. Director of Product Development and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for all incoming departmental inquiries, directing to appropriate functions
  • Supporting project plans including managing calendars, following up on delegated tasks, and tracking project updates and statuses
  • Providing administrative support duties such as calendar management, filing expenses, travel arrangements, etc.
  • Processing purchase order and invoices as received, maintaining vendor records and tracking budgets as required
  • Preparing presentations for team meetings, strategy meetings, conferences and executive meetings including gathering materials, and managing boardroom set-up
  • Assist with the planning and execution of D&M team building activities including offsite meetings, milestone celebrations, etc.
  • Other duties as required

Experience, Education and Designations:

  • At least 3-5 years of administrative work experience
  • University or college degree required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphasis in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator preferred
  •  Experience with MS Project is an asset
  • Previous experience in the apparel, manufacturing industry is an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • A self-starter with strong planning and organization skills and detail-oriented, with the strong ability to work with cross functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills (written, oral, presentation) and ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments (Planning, Sales, Marketing, Strategy, Finance, Operations, etc.)
  • Take initiative to act on opportunities and identify areas of improvement to implement new processes or procedures and increase department efficiencies.
  • Ability to foresee and help resolve potential conflicts in timelines, deliverables, or calendars
  • Display a “can do” attitude to resolve problems and take pre-preemptive action to find solutions.
  • Ability to work at a high level of professionalism with both internal and external partners.
  • Passionate about Canada Goose and the product possibilities ahead.
