Building a sustainable tomorrow We require Senior Quantity Surveyors to work as part of the CP6 Lot 1 SNE Delivery Team.
The CP6 Lot 1 SNE Framework is a five-year renewals and enhancements framework valued at £320m, which was awarded to BAM Nuttall Ltd.
The framework will complete a wide range of projects including replacing and refurbishing structures across the route and delivering improvements at stations.
You will be either working from our York Office or from project sites which will be within Network Rail’s Eastern Region which extends from Northumberland to North London and into East Midlands.

Your mission Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company policy Maintain effective communication with contracts managers, project managers, managing / project QS and other associated disciplines Assist in staff matters which may include: attitude and behavioural issues, competency, retainment and staff allocation to meet a project’s need Manage, supervise and mentor your “reports” within the commercial structure.
Carrying out staff performance and development reviews and assist in the operation of the commercial training programme Provide and control strategy of commercial contacts with client’s representatives Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting and input to subcontract documents Commercial management of subcontractors including processing payments, obtaining final account agreements, and resolving disputed issues by negotiation, if appropriate Monitor the timely production of reliable cost performance data and initiate discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy Produce and present monthly / quarterly reports Be responsible for the timely production of appropriate levels of applications for payments in accordance with the provisions of the conditions of contract Produce the financial assessment of insurance claims with insurer’s representatives Manage time and workloads for yourself and your commercial team in a structured manner Supporting Contracts Managers and operational teams by offering sound commercial advice on projects Delivery of commercial training to both commercial and operational teams Commercial analysis, reconciliation and reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis Who are we looking for?
Mandatory requirements: Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar Have or working towards RICS/CICES Experience in dispute resolution and avoidance Have excellent communication skills Be driven and self-motivated Have leadership skills and experience in managing a team Proficient with NEC/ICC forms of Contract Relevant Quantity Surveying experience Have knowledge of other forms of Contract Have sound commercial and business knowledge Experience in producing internal and external reports Work environment The frameworks cover works such as: Structures: Underbridge Renewal Underbridge Refurbishment Overbridge Renewal Overbridge Refurbishment Scour Remediation Coastal Defences Retaining Walls Footbridge Renewal / Removal Footbridge Refurbishment Tunnel Works Culvert Works Building and enhancement: New Station Buildings Modifications to Existing Station Buildings Refurbishment of Station Buildings Platform Works New Under / Overbridges Level Crossing Works New Depots Modifications to Existing Depots Refurbishment of Depots What’s in it for you?
