Senior Financial Analyst

JOB SUMMARY Working under moderate supervision, conducts advanced real estate and market analyses. Prepares financial models to evaluate various types of real estate investments. Conducts research and assists with the preparation of presentations; analyzes financial data, leases and economic and real estate market trends. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluates and analyzes a variety of financial results and indicators such as capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc. requiring advanced expertise. Assist in the development and detailed modeling of complex real estate transactions. Research market information and trends; prepare reports and provide support to senior staff in the completion of reports. Prepare financial models used to evaluate all types of real estate investments. Interact with sales representatives with respect to underwriting issues. Prepares reports analyzing specific aspects of department structures, functions and operational procedures and recommends ways to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness. Assist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiatives as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May lead project teams and/or plan staff assignments. Duties may encompass technical guidance and/or training of co-workers as well as policy development and participation in special initiatives such as modeling, system implementations or acquisition integrations. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university preferably in business, urban planning, finance, accounting or geography; a post graduate degree would be an asset.

Minimum of 2-3 years experience working with Argus

COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information in written and verbal form to subordinates, customers and supervisors. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to solve real estate issues and identify value-added opportunities. Previous exposure to the commercial real estate industry is an asset.
