Position Summary:


Staples, the Working and Learning Company is providing a wide range of product and service offerings to our customers. In this role, the Services Associate is responsible for providing customers with meaningful, connected services recommendations through emotional connections and a genuine desire to help their customers meet their working and learning goals.

Dynamic and inspiring, the Services Associate is curious about their customer, knowledgeable about Staples’ full suite of services, and creative in finding solutions. The Services Associate is constantly looking for connections with customers and opportunities to provide services that add value.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • CONNECT: Maximize services opportunities with every customer by using deeply consultative selling techniques and company programs.
  • Be proactive and service-savvy, complete services training, and connect with internal and external services network for newest service solutions.
  • Generate creative ideas to engage customers with shared knowledge, services know-how, demonstrations, and hands-on learning opportunities to inspire customer confidence and encourage a life-long relationship.
  • Communicate regularly with the Services Lead to maximize sales.
  • Identify and communicate suggestions for improvements in all areas of the business.
  • Know and communicate all services and promotions offered within the store and Unified Commerce Community.
  • SHARE: Communicate new trends and service offerings to customers to ensure a seamless and inspiring shopping experience.
  • PARTNER: Actively look for connections to generate leads to Business Development Manager (BDM) and General Manager for Print and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) opportunities.
  • Provide coverage and assistance in all areas of the store where business needs require and as training supports.
  • Provide cash support to associates at the checkout to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Understand and adhere to all privacy and information management policies and procedures.
  • Properly secure all company assets and physical inventory.
  • Ensure a complete understanding of all company policies and procedures related to this position as outlined in the training checklist.
  • all sources of communication for information and follow company direction.
  • Maintain general cleanliness of workstations, lunchroom, and washrooms for a positive customer and associate experience.
  • Be responsible for the safe and proper use of all store equipment and accountable to inform management of any maintenance issues.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow all company protocols for safety; be responsible for reporting any unsafe working conditions to a manager.
  • Follow the company bag check policy, which requires personal parcels including bags, totes, purses, and backpacks be checked by a manager or lead prior to leaving the store premises.

BASIC:

  • EXPERIENCE:
  • 3 months to 1 year of previously related experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift between 5-50 lbs.
  • EDUCATION:
  • Working towards or successful completion of high school is preferred.
