About the role AIG has an opportunity for a Senior Auto Underwriter role supporting the multinational division.
The role has underwriting authority to handle a variety of risks including large and more complex risks.
The role will be responsible for underwriting Canadian Auto products including Owned Auto (Fleet/Non-Fleet), Garage, Non-owned Auto and Lessor’s Contingent coverage for guaranteed cost as well as loss sensitive programs structures.

What you need to know: Underwrite Canadian Auto policies in support of larger Controlled Master Programs (CMP) Engage with the MN Issuing Office to communicate risk appetite in relation to Auto coverage.
Rapidly evaluate Canadian submissions received from Foreign AIG Offices in order to assess rating and pricing requirements.
Negotiate Canadian underlying pricing and deal structure, in conjunction with the Canadian Issuing Office, with Foreign AIG Offices in order to profitably grow the Producing Office’s book of business.
Develop strong, long-term relationships with Foreign AIG Offices to profitably grow a book of business.
Responsible for analyzing the risk and ensuring compliance with Casualty underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Processing the pricing of mid-term adjustments / cancellations where required and respond to queries around the pricing of risk.
Participate in special underwriting projects as needed.
Provide mentoring and training to less experience underwriters.
Provide superior customer service to AIG offices, brokers, and clients.
What we are looking for: Minimum 5 years of Commercial Insurance Company, Agency, or Brokerage experience.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
Advanced working knowledge of Auto coverage in Canada including product features, forms, regulatory environments, and risks Very strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work with Foreign AIG offices Highly motivated and results oriented.
Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions.
Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can-do attitude.
Comfort with analytical tools and technology.
