Senior Business Analyst – Shared Capabilities

Shared Capabilities is a newly formed organization that will build and run best-in-class capabilities that power our customer products.

We are establishing a “Center of Excellence Team”, a dedicated group that provides oversight, identifies future needs, coordinates, allocates resources, sets standards, monitors progress through actionable analytics for shared capabilities including: Identifying new services that are leverageable across the business and may become Shared Capabilities.

Orchestrates strategic and allocation decisions across business capabilities based on overall program priorities (MVP-1 etc.); Is the link between the executive committee and the individual capability teams Sets, enforces, and monitors standards for speed and interoperability for business (e.g., agile way of working, team OKRs) and technology (e.g., design, service-orientation, interfacing, code structure, IT tools) Manages and coordinates cross-capability requirements and dependencies to maintain high speed and avoid IT spend waste Drives shared capability awareness & adoption throughout Thomson Reuters We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst who will partner with Product Owners across product/digital shared capabilities and other Stakeholders to create and innovate business requirements that drive towards a more simplified, efficient, and customer oriented way of working for our Shared Capabilities adoption.

The Business Analyst will gather & synthesizes business data, producing high quality outputs to share with leaders & broader organization that help us determine new opportunities, funding, and standards.

The Business Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders to drive adoption of the Shared Capabilities vision and strategy across multiple business units.

The Business Analyst will be responsible for the creation of business requirements, agile user stories, and process maps for a variety of projects.

This role will work cross-functionally with key business stakeholders, process owners, capability owners, product engineering and operational SMEs.

At the end of the day, we’re looking for individuals who will enable Thomson Reuters to think big, make it simple, and move fast.

About the Role Documents business process design and requirements/ process maps to hand-off to development teams, change management and training Delivers business process design and requirements and test plan so the development teams can build and deliver to expectations Documents requirements/user stories with relevant acceptance criteria Partners with stakeholders and business resources to learn business process, elicit, analyze, and translate business needs into requirements Support the Process Owners to define, refine, and communicate user stories Understands requirements, prepares documentation and grooms backlog Confirms that requirements are in line with shared capabilities adoption plan and roadmap.

Collaborates with tech PO/tech team to help translate business requirements to tech requirements Provide guidance on user research and testing Owns physical deliverables (e.g.

user stories, requirements), acceptance criteria for how requirements are achieved (content is provided in collaboration with PO) Create process flows and process documentation to illustrate the future state (in collaboration with the process owner Mentors and trains less experienced team members and assists with enforcing team best practices and governance About You 5 years Business Analysis experience; large program experience preferred in the B2B or B2C digital platform shipping multiple products and features 2 years in Agile (Scrum preferred) environment, with a proven understanding of the development life cycle, including but not limited to requirements definition, user experience, development practices, testing, and deployment Demonstrated experience in business analysis, process mapping, and requirement elicitation Demonstrated experience eliciting stakeholder needs and translating them into agile user stories or business requirements Demonstrated experience leading meetings and driving projects forward Experience building and managing effective relationships and partnering with others to develop joint solutions.

Ability to leverage a variety of approaches to solicit valuable information, even in challenging situations Demonstrated experience identifying and participating in performance or process improvement initiatives Experience working with different cultures and global partners.

Able to effectively navigate and perform in dynamic environments managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Detail-oriented and well organized, able to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and follow through on commitments Ability to build relationships and gain trust quickly A self-starter, able to keep up in a fast-paced environment, a team player, capable of juggling multiple priorities, and a curious learner History of partnering and collaborating with architects and engineers in writing clear user stories Demonstrated ability to achieve bold strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment and able to flex between multiple workstreams Demonstrated ability to develop an inspiring product vision, strategy, and roadmap Ability to communicate complex concepts in easy-to-understand terminology Able to apply knowledge of how a product is designed, built, deployed, and maintained in an enterprise environment; you transparently manage risk by collaborating with a team, keeping stakeholders informed, and unpack your principles and approach Experience with technology and the ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams (bonus points for having software engineering or data analytics in your background) Track record of delivering high-impact shared capabilities that solve big customer problems, delivered on time and on budget Ability to articulate clear and concise specifications for new products and new features with a strong affinity towards the developer community.

Understands at a high level the landscape of tools and technologies that developers use to bring products to market Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to articulate and evangelize a strategy at every level of the organization Ability to prioritize new feature launches based on competitive analysis, industry trends, emerging technologies, and company vision.
