Aon is looking for a Senior Broker – Large Construction As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Construction Services Practice Group within Aon Risk Solutions. This will be a national position addressing the needs of our clients across the country. You will report directly to the Senior Vice President and National Centre of Excellence Manager for Construction – Large Accounts & Projects. For the right candidate, remote working from anywhere in Canada is a possibility! Responsibilities: Serving clients across Canada, collaborating with Account Executives across Canada to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business in the Construction segment for both annual and project specific coverages Analyzing client specific risk exposure and detailed coverage requirements; preparing and presenting marketing proposals for renewals and new business Negotiating with underwriters to establish the best terms and conditions with respect to premiums and coverage Continually working to develop thought leadership and expertise through networking, technical training, and market/industry/client discussions Communicating current trends and issues to interested parties internally and externally Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with the underwriting community, with a focus on Construction specialty markets Working with the Insurer to finalize and confirm the terms of the negotiated contract are met Working with colleagues in London, England in the placement of annual and project specific coverages Preparing, reviewing, and approving client-ready documentation, including proposals, analysis, comparisons, manuscript policy documents, mid-term changes, new business and renewals in conjunction with other team members Providing leadership, mentorship and direction to assist with the growth and development of Associate Brokers or other members of the Construction Services Group. Demonstrating and sharing the importance of best practices. Requirements: 5+ years of industry experience in construction insurance, specifically with placing or underwriting Property including Contractors Equipment, Master Builders Risk, Casualty – CGL / Umbrella / Excess / Master Wrap Up, project specific Builders Risk and Wrap Up coverages General Insurance Level One and Level Two licenses or ability to obtain both licenses within twenty-four (24) months Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team Ability to participate and contribute in meetings with senior to executive level underwriters and clients Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills Outstanding organization skills and the ability to prioritize competing priorities in sometimes high-pressure situations Excellent computer skills including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs Ability to travel freely within Canada Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development We offer you A competitive total rewards package, continuing education & training, and tremendous potential with a growing worldwide organization.
