Project Engineer, Instrumentation & Monitoring

This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted October 8, 2021.

A day in the life
• You will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of geotechnical instruments, e.g.

SAA, Inclinometer, and Vibrating Wire Piezometers etc.

• You will be responsible for daily monitoring work using a total station and other instrument read out unit.

• You can expect to supervise general site work including installation, inspection and decommissioning activities;
• Youll provide instrumentation technical issue troubleshooting, coordinate with supplier or engineer, and provide prompt response on site;
• Youll be coordinating site activities in regards instrumentation and monitoring, with general contractor, sub-contractors and suppliers;
• You will conduct data collection and initial analysis, with both manual and automatic data collection methods;
• Youll oversee the activities in geotechnical or construction site including quality review, data tracking and updating database using data management system;
• You will conduct or coordinate maintenance and tracking of maintenance for geotechnical equipment and instrumentation, as required;
• You may advise, support and QC/QA for field investigation programs Wed love to hear from you if you have
• A civil, geotechnical, or environmental technologist education or certification;
• Solid fundamental knowledge in geotechnical, environmental or structural;
• Familiarity with basic instrument operation i.e total station, inclinometer
• Extensive earthworks and/or monitoring project experience;
• Demonstrated capabilities in geotechnical instrumentation installations, readings, and trouble shooting
• Previous experience with cost and schedule tracking and control
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Valid G Driver’s License
• The interest and ability to lift heavy equipment or instrument, and work in confined spaces or near railway tracks
