About Our Client: Our client is a provider of medical diagnostic technology to laboratories, hospitals and clinics.

This role can be based out of Toronto or Montreal or surrounding areas.

Other locations will also be considered.

This is a home office based role.

Position Scope: Reporting to the Business Unit Manager – Clinical Innovation, the Product Specialist, QC/ART is a key member of the Business Development Team and an integral part of the business profile.

The Product Specialist (QC/ART) role is a field-based position focused on providing highly technical and scientific on-site support to both customers and our established team of Territory Managers.

Core to the position of Product Specialist will be establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including IVF Laboratory Directors, Physicians, Medical Laboratory Technologists and Embryologists.

Responsibilities: Provide localized scientific and technical sales support to customers, territory managers, and regional managers for both the QC and ART product lines.

Effectively communicate the benefits of products and study results/findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Support efforts with information, tender and RFP specifications and customer evaluations for the scope of products defined.

Actively interface with stakeholders to apply clinical and scientific data to support business interests.

Collaborate with various internal teams to craft and execute sales and marketing plans.

Appropriately present scientific concepts regarding products and competitive products to help commercial personnel achieve objectives.

Provide after sales support to our customer network including product troubleshooting, protocol improvement, process changes, and applications support.

Support existing customers’ scientific, clinical, technical, and troubleshooting needs for products and instrumentation in the field.

Act as a local scientific resource to support highly specialized and technical projects such as Vitrification, Embryo Culture, and Flow Cytometry evaluations.

Develop flexible and creative approaches to support customer needs that generate maximum results for the organization while delivering high customer satisfaction.

Professionally represent the organization to our customers and within the industry as a whole, with peers, competitors and industry representatives.

Support existing customers’ scientific, clinical, technical, and troubleshooting needs for products and instrumentation in the field.

Gather competitive information and market intelligence on a regular and routine basis.

Continuously seek out new sources of information necessary for problem solving and business development strategies Coordinate customer site visits with sales and support teams.

Qualify accounts requiring support or other interventions and monitor support activities until successful completion of goals.

Support peers across all departments as a part of a team culture.

Complete all internal reporting responsibilities promptly and completely as required.

Manage expense budgets vigorously to maximize corporate profitability.

National travel required up to 50% of the time.

International travel may also be required.

Required Skills and Knowledge: Functional experience in the areas Clinical Chemistry and/or Embryology strongly desired.

Ability to work with Scientists and Technologists at a clinical academic level.

Experience in overseeing clinical trials or patient studies, writing scientific reports and medical publications.

Strong understanding of clinical laboratory diagnostics including third party quality control and quality assurance.

Demonstrates exemplary oral and written professional communication skills Demonstrates a bias for action and is comfortable operating without supervision, manages daily priorities while simultaneously moving longer-term business improvement projects forward, providing high level reporting as and when deemed appropriate Possesses strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills together with a robust attention to detail Has a proven ability to create new processes and procedures to improve efficiencies and optimize business development.

Bilingual a strong asset (English – French) Education and Experience: 5 years professional work experience, with a 3 years in the clinical, diagnostic or fertility market preferred.

History of documented proven sales success.

Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science (preferred) or a Bachelor of Science in a related discipline (required).
