Timber Pricing Coordinator Licensed Science Officer (Forester) 3 This position is located in Kamloops, BC.

An eligibility list may be established to fill future, similar vacancies.

Confirmation of the following certification/membership is required at the time of a job offer following this competition: Registered Professional Forester (RPF) with the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals (ABCFP).

The Regional Operations Timber Pricing Program is explicitly responsible for ensuring that timber measurements, pricing, billing and log export authorizations are conducted correctly.

The program is also responsible for implementing policies and procedures to minimize risk and ensure accuracy, while enhancing forest sector competitiveness.

Under the direction of the Revenue Officer, also ensures that the revenue requirements identified in the Legislation, Regulations, Service Plan, policy and procedures are met.

The Timber Pricing Coordinator supervises appraisal staff and directs and monitors the timber pricing activities in the area by developing and implementing regional appraisal procedures and guidelines, ensuring adherence to appraisal policies, reviewing and resolving appraisal disputes, acting as the senior resource person for appraisal issues, preparing reports, analysis and recommendations, communicating with clients and making stumpage rate determinations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education, experience and professional designation requirement as outlined below: Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a Registered Professional Forester with the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals (ABCFP).

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or other directly related discipline as recognized by the ABCFP.

Experience leading multidisciplinary groups and projects in natural resource management.

Experience identifying linkages in issue, determining cause and effect and providing sound advice to statutory decision makers.

Experience in consulting with stakeholders in natural resource management.

Experience managing concurrent and complex priorities to produce results within restrictive timeframes.

Preference may be given for one or more of the following: One or more years’ experience leading, supervising and coaching technical and/or professional staff in resource management.

At least 3 years of current appraisals, timber pricing policy and procedures experience.

Experience leading multidisciplinary groups and projects in natural resource management.

Experience working with staff, public and other resource stakeholders for the purpose of achieving an organizational goal or objective.
