Legal Consultant- Legal and Research Practice

Aon is looking for a Legal Consultant As part of our collaborative, creative and inclusive team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of the Legal and Research Practice at Aon Risk Solutions. Preferably based in Toronto, you will report directly to the National Director, Legal and Research Practice. Please note: Alternative locations will be considered for qualified candidates. Your Impact as a Legal Consultant Job Responsibilities: Under the direction of the National Director, Legal and Research Practice, service brokers and account managers as well as clients in identifying, analyzing and transferring exposures related to corporate / commercial insurance liability. Research legislative, regulatory and judicial developments in the areas of corporate / commercial insurance liability. Assist with, and draft policy wording to reflect emerging exposures. Assist Aon’s claims department, when required, in advocating for clients in corporate / commercial liability insurance claims situations. Provide regular research to assist in day to day consultations with account executives and brokers. Participate in meetings and projects in co-operation with Aon’s Global Technical Practice Group. Education (and Experience): Law degree (common law degree preferred, with provincial Bar membership) Previous success as insurance defence or coverage counsel in a firm or in-house setting Technical expertise with CGL and/or property insurance coverage and wording issues Proven skills in presenting to legal, claims or underwriting professionals on coverage and wording issues We offer you A competitive total rewards package, continuing education & training, and tremendous potential with a growing worldwide organization.
