I&IT Senior Cyber Security Specialist The Cyber Security Operations Branch of the Ontario Public Service (OPS) proudly believes in our mission to protect the Ontario Government, public services and clients from a diversity of cyber threats.

In this role, you will Provide risk assessment services to OPS clients and commissioned/non-commissioned bodies; articulating the sensitivity of projects/initiatives, associated vulnerabilities, threats, safeguards and residual risk. Provide in-depth technical advice regarding the implementation of security safeguards for both on-prem and cloud environments, in accordance with industry and OPS standards and best practices. Provide strategic and technical security mitigation planning; and participate in the design, development and maintenance of cyber security patterns, plans and strategies. Engage in predictive threat intelligence for the enterprise, ensuring that strategies, designs, and plans take into account the future threat landscape. Ensure the protection of information assets for the citizens of Ontario and other stakeholders through cyber security best practices, industry trends, and governance structures. Location Toronto How do I qualify? TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE Demonstrated experience providing technical security expertise, training, and risk assessment & advisory services on enterprise-wide basis. Demonstrated experience providing proactive risk mitigation planning of major organizational or technological changes. Demonstrated experience leading/participating in the development and implementation of enterprise-wide risk management, vulnerability mitigation, and identify and access management. Demonstrated experience implementing cyber security and business methodologies, tools, techniques, security design, and risk management concepts. INTERPERSONAL/INFLUENCING SKILLS Demonstrated mediation, negotiation, and facilitation skills to provide leadership on project and work teams. Demonstrated communication, consultative and advisory skills to act as lead technical resource and provide expertise to ongoing contacts. Demonstrated stakeholder/relationship management, partnership and relationships building skills to initiate and develop strong working relationships with internal/external stakeholders. ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS Demonstrated ability to provide technical expertise, training, and advisory services, including security reviews, security risk and business impact analyses. Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, interpret, and evaluate security exposures across multiple security domains. Demonstrated ability to coordinate the preparation of comprehensive findings on information technology security patterns, gaps and opportunities for improvement. Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analysis concerning the design of I&IT security policies and standards. Demonstrated ability to develop options and recommendations on security and privacy aspects of operational policy, security systems design criteria, and associated techniques. Demonstrated ability to assess the impact of trends and issues on internal strategy. PROJECT MANAGEMENT Demonstrated experience leading/managing assigned business projects and related matters that cross a number of program areas. Demonstrated experience providing leadership, advice and direction on business risk planning and coordination. Demonstrated experience establishing project scope, critical success factors, managing project resources, monitoring deliverables, and performing quality control audits. Salary Range $70,538
