CIBC Internal Audit – Auditors and Senior Auditors

To learn more about CIBC, please visit Job Description CIBC’s Internal Audit team is growing, and we’re looking for both Auditors and Senior Auditors Kindly Note: Outside of Ontario, t his position is available for remote work in Canada.

In Ontario, we operate within a hybrid model.

What You’ll Be Doing In these roles you’ll provide insight and proactive control advice to management and stakeholders on control weaknesses, efficiencies and emerging risks to the bank by participating in the planning, execution and reporting of audits within CIBC.

The Senior Auditor role may also require you to provide leadership in improving the overall control environment within CIBC and lead multi-skilled audit teams on large and/or complex audits.

You will also provide an independent opinion on the design and effectiveness of operational and management controls in accordance with industry best practices and develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners.

– The Senior Auditor, and in some cases the Auditor role, will contribute to developing the division’s risk-focused annual audit plan and will lead individual audit planning including identification of key business processes and their inherent risk, the control environment, both at the management or operational levels, and the potential residual risks Audit Execution
– Both roles are involved in assessing key business risks and evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of related processes and controls, identifying and communicating internal control weaknesses and inefficiencies to business line management.

In addition, both roles will advise management and business partners of best practices and promoting compliance with CIBC policies and procedures, accounting standards and regulatory requirements Audit Reporting
– The Senior Auditor will drive the reporting component of some audits.

Report business control weaknesses, and objectively assess the severity and materiality of the issues and their potential impact on the business and the Bank while presenting them in a clear, concise and professional way Leadership
– The Senior Auditor, and in some cases the Auditor role, will provide trusted and proactive advice to the audit team and business management on the design and operating effectiveness of processes and controls to ensure key risks and regulatory requirements relevant to the portfolio are being adequately managed.

Coach team members to build and maintain a collaborate team environment Communication
– The Senior Auditor, and in some cases the Auditor role, will demonstrate clear, concise and influential written and verbal communication skills when issuing audit reports, discussing audit findings, resolving conflicts or interacting with CIBC executives and other stakeholders.

Develop strong internal and external relationships through ongoing communication on progress of engagements and providing advice on risk, control and regulatory matters Who You Are You can demonstrate experience.

You have a comprehensive knowledge of auditing practices (business and technology) and accounting principles and processes.

In addition, you have a knowledge of one or a combination of the following: banking, capital markets, wealth management or supporting infrastructure groups such as technology, operations and risk management and the related regulatory environment You’re a certified professional.

Typically this knowledge is acquired through obtaining an auditing, accounting or finance designation (e.g., CA, CMA, CGA, CPA, ACCA, CFA, CISA, CIA, FRM), a business degree (e.g., MBA), in addition to business experience either in the banking or financial services or internal / external audit assurance and consulting services You understand that success is in the details.
