Heavy Equipment Mechanic

This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted February 28, 2019.


DELSAN-AIM is currently looking for motivated individual(s) in order to fill a full-time position(s) as a Service Technician (Heavy Equipment Mechanic) capable of working in a fast-paced Construction Environment. The successful applicant will be a part of our equipment maintenance team which currently perform all maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout our jobsites located across Ontario.

Responsibilities (Some of the responsibilities may include but not limited to):

  • Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains demolition equipment, such as excavators, Demolition attachments, Mini-Excavators, skid-steers and concrete crushing equipment.
  • Performs repairs to hydraulic equipment, hoses and hydraulic Pumps as required.
  • Performs repairs to hydraulic hammers, shears, clamps as necessary.
  • Performs oil changes on equipment as per manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using cranes, hoists and hand tools.
  • Examines parts for damage or excessive wear and provides recommendations to the Service Manager.
  • Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
  • Repairs and welding of associated excavator attachments as necessary.

  • Experience with diesel engine equipment, specifically Caterpillar & John Deere, Liebherr and Kubota.
  • Hydraulic Repairs, Electrical Wiring
  • High School Diploma or Post-secondary education in heavy equipment repair or a combination of related education and experience.
  • 421A (Journeyman Mechanic’s License (Heavy Duty Mechanic) in good standing with Ontario College of Trades, or in good standing with Ontario College of Trades.
  • 310T Truck and Coach Technician
  • 3rd/4th/5th year Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Apprentice may also qualify.
  • 5+ years related experience in the construction industry is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Technician position is preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of diagnostic software and operation.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract are required.
