Marketing Copywriter

MEDCAN

This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted August 29, 2018.

The Role

The Marketing Copywriter is a critical role within the Medcan marketing team, focused on writing inspiring and engaging copy in various forms, which may include email campaigns, website copy, advertisements, infographics, sales support materials and print materials. The position is well-suited for an individual who wants to make a big impact by contributing to our marketing efforts and helping Medcan bring in new leads. The Copywriter understands the needs and wants of our B2B and B2C target audience and can adjust their voice and tone to reflect our brand. The ideal candidate has a solution-seeking attitude, and a ‘roll-up-your-sleeves’ work ethic.

TheAccountabilities

  • Write high-engagement content that reflects our brand’s voice, including email campaigns, landing pages, sales materials and more
  • Distill complex language into copy that is consumer-friendly and engaging
  • Optimize content based on analytics results
  • Ability to formulate value propositions that reflect the target audience’s needs
  • Produce error-free content that adheres to the company’s style guidelines
  • Interpret creative direction and adapt points from creative briefs into persuasive copy
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects with short deadlines
  • Propose copy concepts and present underlying strategic thinking to business lead

The Requirements

  • 5+ years of copywriting experience, ideally with some experience writing in consumer healthcare
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills for both long- and short-form content
  • Proven expertise and success in creating content, preferably for both a B2B and B2C audience
  • Strong understanding of SEO, content optimization and what drives click-throughs
  • Autonomous with a demonstrated ability to work under pressure, able to manage and deliver against tight timelines and manage several projects simultaneously
  • You consider yourself eager, clever, ambitious and a true content expert
  • You can balance a variety of stakeholder objectives and perspectives
  • A positive, high-energy, deadline-oriented team player that can embrace the brand
  • Ability to “go-with-the-flow” and embrace change
  • Ability to combine conceptual, creative and strategic thinking with tactical execution
  • Ability to understand client acquisition tactics and think holistically about the client journey

This position reports to the Senior Marketing Manager and is part of a team of 4 members. This is full-time role that is scheduled during business hours Monday through Friday.
