Marketing / Communications Coordinator

Engineering and marketing both require a meticulous attention to detail, unbound creativity, and a strong desire to achieve real, tangible goals. We’re the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers ( (OSPE), and we advocate on behalf of the engineering profession in the province of Ontario. Whether it involves organizing professional development events or connecting with the many businesses and government officials that help our cause, we are dedicated to ensuring that engineering professionals have a key voice at Ontario’s policy-making table. We’re a strong, progressive organization and we’re looking for a marketing professional to join our team. Marketing and Communications Coordinator Your primary focus in this role will be to manage the daily, weekly, and monthly operations of our communications activities. Typically, you’ll be spending your time crafting written materials for various channels: everything from our website to business letters and print marketing. But you’ll also be working on content strategy: figuring out new and effective ways to position our brand. A big part of your contributions will involve project management of our quarterly magazine, The Voice. Here, you’ll brainstorm ideas, conduct interviews, and work with our design team to assemble a professional and compelling product that shines. The best part? If you’re a creative, fearless professional who’s ready to make their mark, this is the place for you. Practically speaking, your responsibilities will include: * Create content for a variety of marketing communication channels, and lead creative direction for OSPE website and digital/print marketing materials* Manage OSPE marketing campaigns for all business units* Develop and implement a strategic plan and content calendar for OSPE’s marketing channels, including blogs/social media accounts* Manage the quarterly association magazine, The Voice* Maintain good relationships with vendors (agencies, consultants, etc.)* Stay informed on trends in social media/marketing, and adjust our initiatives as necessary You’ve got great writing skills but you’re also exceptional with people. Whether you’re working collaboratively on a project, or talking to our partners on the phone, you’re ready to be one of the recognizable faces of our organization. Working with OSPE This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, with a highly attractive total compensation plan, that includes travel compensation, three weeks of vacation and RSP matching.  We are a small, passionate team operating out of our head office in Toronto. We hope you will join us as we continue to champion the interests of engineers across Ontario.Qualifications * Degree/diploma in marketing/communications/journalism or similar* Experience working in a marketing or communications role* Experience working with 3rd party agencies, consultants, and vendors is an asset* Experience with media and social media including content development and posting to Facebook and Twitter* Experience and proficiency working with MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) including the ability to develop templates, mail merges and spreadsheets* Familiarity with WordPress How to Apply Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume.
