Job Description Own the marketing of Manulife Canada’s Individual Insurance business, with responsibility for both advisor-sold and direct-to-consumer marketing initiatives.

You’ll be leading in a fast-paced matrixed environment driven to acquire and retain customers through breakthrough marketing across traditional and innovative media channels working with our sales, product, research, customer/advisor experience and analytics teams to grow sales and improve retention of our Insurance products and solutions.

Key Accountabilities: Lead the end-to-end marketing planning for the Individual Insurance business (including the overall vision, strategy and campaigns) that will deliver breakthrough marketing to help drive target business outcomes Drive the activation and delivery of marketing campaigns across Individual Insurance Lead creative and media strategy with external agency partners Work collaboratively across marketing and the business segment (along with agency partners) to develop an integrated marketing plan for across businesses, audiences (customer, advisor, plan sponsor etc.), and channels Work with the Marketing Leadership Team and the Global Marketing team to develop the overall marketing strategy for Canada Segment Activate the company brand mission across touch points in the customer journey Drive brand consistency and governance across the segment with application within Individual Insurance Contribute to the development and implementation of the Individual Insurance business strategy and plan, using your marketing expertise and general business experience Work closely with Research & Insights team to improve our understanding of customer perceptions, preferences and behaviours with emphasis on priority segments Translate customer and competitive insights into impactful marketing briefs that ensure insight driven marketing Encourage, mentor, and guide your team, building a culture of engagement to create a better marketing organization Establish accountabilities and performance standards by actively managing performance, providing formal and informal feedback and coaching to build a strong team Oversee the annual marketing budget for the Individual Insurance business and manage marketing spend Optimize marketing spend to deliver strong Marketing value and to deliver revenue and earnings targets Work with Digital Analytics and Research & Insight teams to measure and evaluate campaign effectiveness, while optimizing through real time marketing approach Develop scorecards and track delivery against target business outcomes, continually assessing what is working and not working and pivot accordingly Qualifications: A leader who brings visionary thinking and excels in rallying and inspiring teams to win, learn and have fun Highly collaborative, working well with cross-functional partners and able to navigate and get the best out of teams in a matrixed environment Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing with a graduate degree (MBA) preferred Minimum of 10 years of strategic marketing experience, specifically in the areas of brand and activation Experience in marketing strategy and planning, particularly in delivering fully integrated marketing campaigns Outstanding interpersonal skills with a focus on being a leader and standout colleague with the ability to foster and maintain relationships and the ability to rally your team around a common vision Strong intuition for business and an ability to shift comfortably from strategy to execution If you are ready to unleash your potential, it’s time to start your career with Manulife/John Hancock.
