Warehouse/ Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

Job Description

POSITION: WAREHOUSE/SHIPPING LEAD HAND

START DATE: ASAP

Our clienthas been providing the design and woodworking industries with specialty decorative finishes and materials since 1950.

We are searching for a Warehouse/Shipping Supervisor who will coordinate efforts in the warehouse but also be involved in day-to-day shipping and receiving including packing customer orders and receiving product to stock.

RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Overseeing incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and conditions of shipments
  • Following work procedures and policies, preparing work schedules and expediting workflow
    Organizing work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules
  • Preparing bills of lading, customs invoices and labels
  • Arranging transportation of customer orders using online tools
  • Assisting workers in shipping and receiving activities
  • Pulling stock for production of samples and adjusting stock in inventory system
  • Managing and transferring of damaged goods in inventory system
  • Inspecting incoming materials and notifying management of potential quality issues
  • Inspecting loading operations to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Ensuring shipping area is organized and clean at all times and meets all compliance factors
  • Inspecting material handling equipment for defects and notifying management or contacting outside service facility for repair
  • Maintaining forklift maintenance report
  • Ensuring that all warehouse employees are in compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations and other company-related policies and procedures
  • Investigating and solving customer problems and issues
  • Training, and performance-monitoring activities
  • Performing other duties as required by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Shipping/Receiving experience in a fast-paced environment considered an asset
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Lead role preferably within a warehouse environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as lead a team
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Counterbalance and Forklift Certification
  • Keen eye and very attentive to detail
  • Fluent in English
