This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted October 31, 2019.

Your challenge We are looking for a highly motivated, results-oriented individual to join our team.

Reporting to the Prepress Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for processing and preparing electronic files and setting up jobs in the system for print, and ensures that customer quality and delivery expectations and specifications are met.

The Prepress Operator will also be responsible for producing soft / high resolution proofs, maintaining colour accurate proofs for customer approval, communicate design specifications to various departments and determine prepress requirements.

Business Objectives Alignment As an expert in his/her field, contribute to attaining and growing sales objectives in keeping with the strategic plan for his/her business unit Operational Excellence Design packaging while taking into account the manufacturing reality Analyze and understand client needs Manage and document his/her activities and projects (e.g., new requests, matrices, specifications, samples, contract reviews) Provide technical support and optimize designs Human Resources Take the initiative to develop his or her skills Health & Safety Comply with the safe work standards in effect Promote sound occupational health and safety management Corporate Responsibility and Governance Carry out activities in an ethical manner and respect Cascades’ culture Make sure projects comply with the standards, regulations and procedures in effect Client Focused and Innovation Participate in continuous improvement and innovation initiatives in his/her business unit Propose innovative solutions aimed at creating added value for clients Share achievements with team members and other business units Stay abreast of design trends and new technologies in his/her field and share them with the organization Core competencies defined for this job Action-based focus Advisory role Client-focus Initiative Planning and organizing Rigour Education Desired experience You will have the following skills: The ideal candidate will hold a Graphic Arts or Print Diploma coupled with at least 5 years experience in the prepress industry Experience in Colour Management software Must be fluent on a MAC operating system with working knowledge of PC’s Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite Series (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Acrobat),Hybrid Packz Workflow, Apogee, Kodak Prinergy Workshop, and Pandora Knowledge of all Microsoft software (Excel, Word, etc.) is essential Strong, effective communication skills, both written and oral The successful candidate must also be autonomous and a self-motivated professional, have solid organizational and leadership skills, and be a solid team contributor.
