This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted September 23, 2018.

Our Client is the largest roaster, contract manufacturer and distributor of packaged coffees that Canadians buy from grocery stores!
The long-term partner of choice for major food service customers and you can be a part of this amazing team! We are actively seeking skilled Machine Operators with a Food background.

  • Actively participate to maintain product quality and food safety program practices including: BRC, HACCP, QA/QC, GMP, SOPs, OHSA and other pertinent policies, procedures and legislation
  • Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining health and safety program practices including safe lifting, lock-out/tag-out, incident prevention and personal safety practices.
  • Operate Single Serve line equipment according to operating procedures in order to achieve the daily output target for the line.
  • Perform pre-operational quality, sanitation, and preventative maintenance and safety checks before starting a production line.
  • Perform basic mechanical service on equipment as needed.
  • May provide work direction to temporary staff on an as-needed basis.
  • Insure that correct packaging materials are loaded onto the line. Fully versed and responsible for Line clearance procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, including all packing and related equipment/tools, as outlined in the Sanitation procedure.
  • Co-ordinate, with Material Handlers, the staging of packaging materials needed for a product run as well as materials needed for a change over.
  • Use the Factory computer system to print pallet tags (or case labels), check product specifications and record production activities.
  • Communicate information about production or equipment problems with Technical Cell Lead or Shift Manager.
  • Make adjustments to machine and peripherals according to specifications.
  • Maintain strict net contents control, packaging seal integrity and correct label information.
  • Following Allergen SOP’s when working within the Allergen room.
  • Other duties as identified and required


  • Must be able to work afternoon and night shifts, plus overtime as needed
  • Must pass company administered skilled competency test
  • 3 years experience in food processing or related industry will be highly considered
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices and food safety procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and ensure completion with minimal errors
  • Ability to assess and promptly rectify non-standard situations and/or issues
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy looking consistenly for potential food safety or quality deviations
  • Frequent lifting and bending and long perids of standing are required – may lift 35 lbs. on an infrequent basis
  • Work in temperatures from 20 to 28 degreees celcius
  • Shift is permanent, but flexibility is required to cover other shifts periodically

  • Experience with food manufacturing
  • Experience with running filling machines (machines that fill cans, bags, etc with food products)
  • Experience with quality control and food safety, GMP
