Warehouse Associate


This is a Full-time position in Toronto, ON posted October 1, 2021.

Job Summary Anixter’s Richmond, BC facility requires a dynamic, highly-motivated, organized team-players to pick, weigh, pack, label and prepare for transportation goods and stock materials.

Cycle counts and shelf stocking as required.

Starting rate is $16.71/hour initially, then moves to $21.85/hour after 6 months.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Handle all incoming shipments.

Perform verification of purchased products and enter order receipts into Anixter’s computer system.

Perform quality assurance inspections when appropriate.

Place received material, after segregating backorders, into proper warehouse storage locations.

When appropriate, relocate and consolidate material and notify management of new bin locations.

Pull, pack, weigh and label materials for shipment (including assemble & hold orders).

Prepare bills of lading and express receipts.

Assist in loading the trucks.

Prepare local delivery records and complete applicable blocks on the pick ticket.

Maintain appropriate forms pending return of material.

Inspect condition of returned material prior to completing return authorization forms.

Pull stock and return it to the correct location pending credit memo, sale or return to supplier.

Clean warehouse and trucking/parking area.

Perform simple machine set-up.

May perform tagging, spooling, coiling, cutting operations.

Use a variety of hand tools and test equipment.

Inspect/test work for quality, resolve simple problems, recognize errors and correct or seek assistance.

Clean, prepare, and stage job materials for production according to procedure.

Inspect final product to ensure all specifications are met.

Ensure the acceptable housekeeping practices are followed.

Understand and follow applicable company practices, policies, and procedures.

Follow all established safety regulations.

Requirements Forklift operator certification Experience operating a narrow aisle lift truck or order picker Self-motivated team player Very good command of the English language – reading and writing text and numbers is essential.

Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with physically demanding work.

Working conditions Full time / permanent Monday – Friday.

2 shifts available: 6:30 am
– 3 pm, 2:30 pm
