This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted May 17, 2018.

Job Description

AZ / DZ DRIVERS

Type of Employment: Full Time, Permanent

AZ Drivers can choose to join our local team (hourly wage) or our US team (per mile).

DZ drivers can join our local fleet and earn an hourly wage. We are looking to connect with experienced and confident drivers as our LTL operations provides full hours.

All local vehicles are standard transmission and long-haul vehicles are mostly automatic, we may be able to accommodate requests for a standard long-haul vehicle.

Qualifications:

  • AZ and DZ drivers with minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
  • Clean driver abstract
  • Clean CVOR
  • Clean criminal record
  • DOT Testing for US drivers
  • Customer service experience an asset
  • Good team player attitude
  • Ability to lift and move objects repetitively
  • Must fluently speak and write English

Skills:

  • 2+ years of commercial driving experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of completing HOS (driver logbooks), pre-trip inspections, trip reports, load securement, general vehicle maintenance, accident and incident reports, inspection reports and bill of ladings
  • Must be able to drive automatic and standard (10-speed, 13-speed)transmission

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate with dispatch to execute pick-ups and deliveries efficiently
  • Communicate with customers on-site during pick-ups/ deliveries
  • Assist with loading and unloading cargo (if assistance is not available on customer site)
  • Operate your vehicle )truck/ tractor

    – trailer) safely, according to provincial and federal standards

  • Submit all supporting documents such as HOS logs, daily run-sheets and pre-trip inspection reports
  • Report any vehicle issues you may find to dispatch and our preventative maintenance team

Other Requirements:

  • Must have safety shoes and be prepared to wear a uniform with photo ID badge
  • Occasional shift adjustments may occur to accommodate customer requests
  • Mandatory attendance for Safety Training (usually monthly, on-site).
  • Criminal background check (within 30-days) and CVOR/ Abstract (within 3 months) required for consideration
