Trade Control and Compliance Specialist – Bilingual

Job Description

Please note that we have one regular status opportunity as well as one contract opportunity available. The contract opportunity will be from Mid-December 2021 to January 2023.

Given the current circumstances, employee will be working from home, 100% of time. As working conditions return to normal, they may shift to a hybrid working arrangement .

If the successful candidate is located outside of Montreal or Toronto, we are open to a 100% remote opportunity.

Business Overview:

Operations Controls provides centralized governance to key operational functions within Client Services, including support for ongoing operational change and regulatory reporting.

What You Will Do

The Trade Control and Compliance Specialist is responsible for the ongoing review and assessment of various compliance reports, including but not limited to the High Risk Redemption report, TRAP, AML and other regulatory reports. In addition responsibilities will include working closely with the Cash Management team to ensure the timely handling of Wire payments, EFT’s and CIT’s.  The Operations Controls Specialist will serve as SME to the division on regulatory topics such as privacy and NI 81-102.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Generate and review compliance reporting in the prescribed time period. Communicate and evidence any relevant issues to the appropriate departments or management for resolution.
  • Review and approve for release all Wire and/or EFT payments as well as CIT money movements.
  • Support the unclaimed property process by remediating stale-dated cheques appearing on the Outstanding Cheque Report.
  • Review and approve for release tax payments to CRA and the provinces.
  • Act as subject matter expert and mentor to colleagues and internal business partners.
  • Supports Fidelity Values and Other Job Responsibilities.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year related work experience in account administration within the financial services industry
  • Two-year post-secondary program
  • Bilingualism in English and in French (spoken and written)
  • Canadian Securities Course or IFIC certificate is an asset

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Works well in a team environment, as well as working independently on individual tasks
  • Proficiency in MS Office an asset
