Who We are

Established in 1987, Fidelity Investments Canada Inc. (FIC), provides Canadian investors with a full range of mutual funds, ETFs and alternative funds. Fidelity funds are available through a number of advice-based distribution channels, including financial planners, investment dealers, banks and insurance companies.

FIC manages over $168 billion (CAD) in mutual fund and institutional assets, as at December 15, 2020. This includes $41 billion in assets for institutional clients, including public and corporate-defined benefit pension plans, endowments, foundations and corporate assets on behalf of clients across Canada.

Business Overview

As part of the Human Resources function, the Learning and Development team provides the organization with the learning and performance support needed to meet business objectives by creating simple, innovative and effective training and performance solutions. This is accomplished through strong partnerships, leveraging internal and external best practices and on-going continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Completion of a university degree
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a corporate environment, including at least 3 years in a training function
  • Sound knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and methods of evaluation
  • Strong consulting skills to meet unique business needs
  • Proven ability to deliver corporate-wide programs that support business needs
  • Design-thinking certification is an asset for this role
  • Ability to work at all levels of the organization

What You Will Do

Reporting to the VP, Talent Management, the Learning Solutions Consultant is responsible for fulfilling a broad range of training and development needs, consulting and working closely with the business to ensure training programs contribute to business goals.

  • Using your relationship building skills, you will consult with enterprise-wide business partners to identify training needs and lead the analysis and development of recommendations including training solutions to address performance and/or knowledge gaps in support of business objectives.
  • A major objective of this role will be to manage and deliver training by sourcing appropriate vendors and delivering sessions as required. The incumbent will have the ability to: demonstrate business acumen, use influence effectively to drive ideas and initiatives with internal and external partners, multi-task, respond to rapid change, manage projects, manage detail, manage relationships and resources, and set realistic and achievable goals/objectives and timelines.
  • You will work collaboratively with the Learning & Development team to provide consultation on design for projects.

Note: Given the current circumstances, employee will be working from home, 100% of time. As working conditions return to normal, they will be expected to be onsite.
