CBC Digital Products is looking for a Developer to work with the Content Distribution team.

This is an opportunity for a Senior Full Stack Developer who is eager to innovate and quick to learn.

Someone who wants to expand their skills with hands-on work as part of an Agile team working on the end-to-end SDLC including automation testing.

This is a unique chance for a Senior Full Stack Developer who wants to be part of building an engaging experience for over 18 million Canadians.

A Developer who wants to grow the way they think about their software design; learn from purposeful failure and work in a lean, Agile environment.

A chance to: Work on the APIs that power CBC’s websites and mobile apps and build connections between CBC’s content systems to bring relevant Canadian content to a national audience.

Work on products that are responsible for content and metadata aggregation.

Work with the QA Automation Developer to advise on the build of automated testing scripts and an automated regression testing framework for features on our web/API platforms.

You are a well-rounded Senior Fullstack Developer with an interest in expanding your skills as part of your commitment to building high-quality products.

You have an interest in helping other team members focused on automation testing.

With several years of experience working with Java, JS/ES, Node.js, and React; you are seeking an opportunity to work on a nationally respected and recognized brand in public broadcasting.

Ideally, you have experience developing and testing high traffic websites.

From prototyping new UI/UX to setting up dev environments to experiment on and learning new programming languages to creating improved search functions for our media.

What you bring: The education.

A Computer Science, Engineering, Math degree or equivalent is preferred, but we know not everyone gains their programming skills this way.

You have the knowledge and understanding of software development and testing best
– and latest
– practices.

The hands-on expertise.

You have hands-on professional experience developing large complex web-based applications.

You have: Expertise in Java.

Proficiency with JEE frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.

Experience with JS/ES, NodeJS, and ReactJS is a bonus.

An interest in GraphQL is appreciated.

An understanding of how applications exchange and process JSON and XML.

Proficiency with OOA and OOD would be very beneficial.

Hands-on experience writing REST API endpoints is preferred.

Experience writing code accompanied by unit tests sufficient to ensure code coverage; experience using test-driven development would be considered an asset.

Exposure to automation frameworks such as Selenium and tracking tools such as Atlassian JIRA is an asset.

You can quickly learn new technologies and respond to change by learning and adapting.

You know how to listen and relay empathy and understanding for diverse perspectives.

Your powers of observation help you understand your audience and communicate with the right level of detail.

You are comfortable with iterative and incremental development.
