Job Description

Please note that the internal business title for this opportunity is “Marketing Production Manager”.

Business Overview

The Marketing department creates and manages the production of all marketing material, including both print and digital, for Fidelity Canada. Each piece of material is produced in both French and English. The production group is the centre of this process and is integral to the success of the marketing program.

What You Will Do

The Marketing Production Manager oversees and drives the planning, management and execution of marketing projects, including workflow, budgeting and timely delivery of initiatives. The manager identifies all the tasks that need to be completed within a marketing project and then strategically delegate those tasks to the appropriate team members. This includes facilitating daily stand-ups with team members, work backlog prioritization, removing obstacles for the team and ensuring that work is delivered on time.

  • Production and “end to end” project management of all print and related media, including digital, brochures, one-pagers, posters, newsletters, fund reports, letters, etc.

  • Owner and expert user of all Marketing Communications workflow systems in concert with the Marketing Production team.

  • The Marketing Production Manager will provide tracking, scheduling and reporting on all jobs being completed in Marketing Communications.

  • Ensure typographical standards and Fidelity creative guidelines are closely followed to ensure consistently high-quality deliverables. Traffic all digital artwork to print/fulfillment vendors while ensuring predefined print specifications. Track and archive files according to Marketing Communications file management best practices.

  • Maintain and update inventory levels and forecast usage and expiry of marketing materials available for order through OrderExpress.

  • Track expenses associated with campaigns, ensuring deliverables are on time and within budget. Identify and promote areas for cost efficiencies.

What We’re Looking For

  • Completion of post-secondary education.

  • A minimum of three years of experience as a professional production manager in an advertising or marketing department environment, or similar; experience with print, online and/or broadcast production; experience in the mutual fund/financial services industry.

  • Four years of experience working as a project manager, or a scrum master in an Agile marketing organization, is highly desirable.

  • Advanced understanding of print production, and advanced courses in print production management are considered assets.

  • Graphic design courses and proficiency on Mac and MS Office platforms also considered assets.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), equivalent certification is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Agile framework, with a focus on Agile marketing.

The Expertise You Bring

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills. The ability to interact effectively with a wide range of internal and external clients/vendors, ranging from junior marketing staff to senior management.

  • Highly developed multi-tasking and scheduling skills that will ensure the expectations of a wide range of business partners are met.

  • Expert knowledge of print, online and broadcast production tools and processes. As an expert in these areas, you will act as the primary touch point for all productions involving these disciplines.

  • Diplomacy, calm and problem-solving abilities demonstrated “under pressure.” The Marketing Production Manager is the “go to” person for last-minute changes, challenges and emergencies. Productivity, professionalism and leadership in the face of shifting timelines and expectations define this position.

  • Experience with tools such as Workfront, Jira, and MS Teams

Given the current circumstances, employee will be working from home, 100% of time. As working conditions return to normal, they will shift to a hybrid working arrangement.
