Chief Technology Officer


This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted November 10, 2020.

We are a Leading Provider of Online Training & Education to Food & Hospitality Sectors.

We are growing and have an immediate need for a Chief Technology Officer to join our team in downtown Toronto This role is suitable for a highly experienced professional looking to challenge themselves in an growing SMB environment.

In this position you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Systems function for the entire organisation.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the Systems function is operating efficiently and effectively, and that the function is able to meet the demands of the business as it continues to scale up.

This position requires someone with a demonstrated passion for cloud and web-based technologies who wishes to showcase their experience in leadership, solution architecture, project management, process development and budget management.

The key responsibilities for this role are as follows: Develop, grow and manage our IT Service, Infrastructure and Development functions Manage Systems projects on time and within budget Ensure the continued smooth operation of existing systems as the business continues to grow Manage all technical resources within the business including employees, contractors and agencies Provide solution architecture expertise to enable business growth Enhance, refine and enforce systems processes within the business Ensure quality standards are being met through rigorous documentation, testing, code release and code review processes Manage and monitor the costs of infrastructure, software and resources within the Systems function What we’re looking for 12 years of work experience 5 years of CTO / technical management experience Demonstrated passion for cloud and web-based technologies Experience working with cloud-based applications (e.g.

Salesforce) Experience working with cloud-based servers (e.g.

AWS) Experience working with e-commerce applications (e.g.

Magento) LAMP stack management experience Proven solution architecture skills Demonstrated ability to manage technical projects from concept to go-live Experience evaluating business requirements & processes and developing business requirements documents The ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications Experience managing a variety of technical human resources across multiple timezones Technical process development and management skills Sufficient development experience to be able to perform code reviews in PHP, Javascript and SQL A rigorous approach to testing and quality control Excellent written and verbal communication skills A high attention to detail Experience in Salesforce administration and cloud integration tools would be advantageous but is not required What we’re offering A high level position in a fast-growing tech business Very competitive salary package (base quarterly bonuses) The opportunity to work from anywhere in Canada Full health benefits Flexible work arrangements Latest hardware / software Positive & energetic workplace Participation in industry events Ongoing training & development If you’re ready to take up the challenge, drop me an email expressing your interest to
