Payroll Specialist

Our client is an emerging private equity firm based in downtown Toronto.

Our client they is looking to add a Canadian payroll expert to their team due to growth.

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Payroll Specialist will function in a standalone capacity, with full ownership of payroll processing and reporting.

Responsibilities: Ensuring accurate and timely production of payroll for all employees in Ontario; Keeping accurate records in ADP Workforce Now pertaining, but not limited, to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under or other unpaid leave; Full-cycle payroll processing for up to 200 employees; Ensuring payroll compliance with provincial legislation; Assisting employees with all payroll related questions including PTO accruals, wage deductions, benefits and more; Preparing payroll reconciliations, quarterly and year-end reports for the Controller; Manage regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger; Other ad hoc projects as required.

The successful Payroll Specialist will possess the following skillset: PCP required, pursuing CPM is an asset; Minimum of three years of payroll experience; Intermediate level Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V Lookup) Strong understanding of ADP Workforce Now is an asset; Proficiency with Canadian payroll, specifically Ontario; Proven team player, and willingness to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
