Position Description
The Acute Care Program is seeking a full-time, temporary (until November 11, 2024) Social Worker 2 to work in Concurrent Outpatient Medical Psychosocial Addiction Support Service (COMPASS). Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent will provide direct clinical care for adults who are experiencing addiction or concurrent disorder through a team-based, interprofessional approach to care. Accountabilities include: offering outpatient psychosocial treatment/psychotherapy predominantly in the form of structured/manualized and unstructured groups along a phased approach to care spanning early engagement to skills-based interventions through to Transition groups, with potential to also contribute to specialty COMPASS groups. Capacity to provide limited individual treatment is also part of the role. The role also involves conducting assessments and referrals for new clients, engagement with family members/community supports, and providing case management services for clients. The incumbent will be able to work with clients from diverse populations, and demonstrate a harm reduction, recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approach to care. The incumbent will also participate in: continuous quality improvement initiatives; the research and educational activities of the program; program development; service provider relationship-building; and capacity-building activities. Candidates must be capable of providing supervision of Masters of Social Work students, collaborating with faculties of social work on special projects related to the development of the social work field, contributing to the development of best practices unique to the social work field and also teaching to other professionals. Other related duties may be assigned as required. Some evening hours are required. Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Master of Social Work (MSW) in good standing combined with a preferred 3 years of post-graduate, direct clinical (psychotherapy) experience in the provision of mental health and/or addictions treatment. As a registered member in good standing authorized to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy, the candidate must show proof of registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). You must be eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment with Faculties of Social Work that have affiliation agreements with CAMH in order to supervise social work students.
Supervision of psychotherapy to students within your respective discipline is considered an asset. Candidates working towards qualification to provide psychotherapy supervision of clinicians, or to the contribution to teaching of other health professionals within or across disciplines where permitted is also an asset. The candidate must have competence to perform psychotherapy and experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), or other modalities (depending on the needs of the program). Preference will be given to those who hold certificates/certification. For Registered Social Worker incumbents not yet in independent practice who are required to practice with clinical supervision, CAMH, in its discretion, will pre-arrange this formal supervisory relationship with the clinical program as a condition of hire, based on capacity.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to work within the inter-professional teams and to engage with clients, family members, and community care providers. You possess demonstrated knowledge and experience in concurrent disorders, mood and anxiety, trauma and evidence-based treatments. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced interprofessional clinical environment are essential. Knowledge of community resources and discharge planning is required. You will also be able to meet deadlines, and have excellent computer skills and knowledge of technology to enhance communication and learning. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset. Experience working with individuals from diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds is also required.

Salary Range: $36.04 – $48.57 per hour
