Research Coordinator

Centre for Addiction and Mental Health - CAMH

Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital in Canada, as well as one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. Our services are delivered to help transform the lives of people affected by mental illness and addictions. Our goal is to tailor treatment to each individual, providing patient-centred, comprehensive, coordinated care. 


Reporting directly to the Manager of the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre, CAMH is seeking a full-time, contract Research Coordinator to support a variety of research activities related to the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre. The ideal candidate will be capable of conducting daily tasks with minimal supervision on projects overseen by Azrieli Centre Clinician-Scientists.  Primarily, the successful candidate will coordinate a new study looking at addressing unmet and emerging mental health needs of autistic Canadians and their families during COVID-19.  The role will require the coordination of research-related activities including but not limited to: the development of research protocols, the coordination of day-to-day research activities, liaising with team members, including clinicians, researchers, self-advocate and family advisors, project execution, maintenance of databases, preparation of data for analysis, and analysis of data. The successful candidate will also be responsible for engaging with knowledge users, disseminating findings, and contributing to presentations and peer-reviewed research papers. Previous experience engaging in knowledge exchange activities, learning from and sharing knowledge directly with patients, their families and the public is an asset. The successful candidate will be experienced with Research Ethics Board protocols and submissions and have experience performing qualitative and quantitative data collection, management and analysis. The candidate may also be required to assist with other administrative duties as necessary. This position is located at 1025 Queen Street West.



The successful candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Health Science or related degree combined with two (2) years of relevant research experience.


  • Prior research or service experience with individuals and/or families with mental health concerns and/or developmental disabilities is considered an asset.
  • Prior experience in virtual education activities involving patient, family and service provider groups is an asset.
  • Proficient with REDCap, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and SPSS software is an asset .
  • The candidate will be detail-oriented, possess analytical thinking skills, and exercise initiative and good judgment.
  • Previous experience coordinating and training a large team is an asset.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask and produce high-quality, accurate work while meeting project deadlines.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication (oral/written) and organizational skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • The candidate requires the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Please Note:             This full-time 12-month contract position is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit.


Salary Range:           $33.59 per hour to $45.31 per hour
