Schizophrenia Division
Complex Care and Recovery (CCR) Program

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest academic health sciences center dedicated to mental health and addiction. Research in Schizophrenia and related disorders has been a historic strength that continues into the present, particularly given that CAMH has always served a large number of inpatients and outpatients suffering from these disorders. Research in the Schizophrenia Division focuses on diverse interests, including clinical treatment trials, metabolic health, virtual reality, brain imaging, genetics and health services research.

The Schizophrenia Division is seeking two (2) full-time, contract (1 year) Research Analyst. The position will support a new longitudinal cohort study within the Schizophrenia Division. The project will examine the longitudinal functional trajectories of individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders across three co-primary domains consisting of personal recovery, disability, and community functioning. The successful candidate will work closely with the research manager and study investigators and will assist with preparing research ethics board submissions, support recruitment, coordinate study appointments and procedures, and conduct study assessments. Within this role, you will also support the Division’s centralized recruitment model and knowledge translation/ community engagement initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, organized and hard-working individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills who will enjoy the challenge of working independently and within a team. Primary duties include:
– Overseeing the recruitment, screening, and enrollment of study participants (virtually and in-person), including obtaining and maintaining informed consent;
– Overseeing the data collection process (administering questionnaires, facilitating interviews and other study procedures, data entry) while supporting and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures;
– Assisting with the design of online surveys and analyzing data;
– Supporting presentations and manuscript preparation;
– Maintaining research documentation according to the appropriate guidelines;
– Reviewing scientific literature and conducting comprehensive literature reviews;
– Supporting the preparation of grant submissions and Research Ethics Board materials, including protocol amendments, annual renewals, and ongoing compliance;
– Organizing study files and performing other research administrative tasks, as required

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related, social science, or neuroscience discipline combined with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
• Experience with data collection, entry and auditing as well as organizing and maintaining research files is required
• Experience working with individuals with mental health or addictions challenges is preferred.
• Knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies is preferred.
• Experience with administration of neuropsychological assessments and clinical rating scales preferred
• Advanced computer skills with knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of electronic data capture systems for research (e.g., REDCap) and statistical software systems (e.g., SPSS, R) is considered an asset.
• Experience with graphics design software (Adobe Illustrator, Canva etc.) would be an asset.
• The candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written), problem solving, and organizational skills.
• The ability to multi-task and produce high quality, accurate work while meeting deadlines and requirements is essential.
• Candidates require the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset.

Please Note: These two (2) full-time, contract (1 year) position are part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.

Salary Range: $25.03 – $33.38 per hour
