Research Analyst

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital in Canada, as well as one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. Our services are delivered to help transform the lives of people affected by mental illness and addictions. Our goal is to tailor treatment to each individual, providing patient-centred, comprehensive, coordinated care. 

Reporting directly to the Manager of the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre, CAMH is seeking a full-time, (1 year) contract Research Analyst to support a variety of research activities related to the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre. This position will involve expertise and knowledge around people with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their family members, as well as patient-oriented research and patient engagement. The ideal candidate will be capable of conducting daily tasks with minimal supervision on projects overseen by Azrieli Centre Clinician-Scientists. The successful candidate will work on studies addressing the health of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The role will require experience preparing and submitting research ethics board applications, maintaining participant records and study documents, supporting the recruitment of participants with developmental disabilities, including autism and their families, execution of surveys and interviews/focus groups, and providing support to family advisors.  The candidate must have experience performing qualitative and quantitative data collection, management and analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with knowledge users, disseminating findings, and preparing data for presentations and peer-reviewed research papers. The candidate may also be required to assist with other administrative duties as necessary. The individual will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable CAMH policies and regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 1025 Queen Street West.


The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science or related degree combined with one (1) year of relevant research or clinical experience.

Prior research or service experience with individuals and/or families with mental health concerns and/or developmental disabilities is considered an asset.

  • Prior experience in virtual education and knowledge translation activities involving patient, family and service provider groups is an asset
  • Course work in statistical analyses will be considered an asset.
  • Proficient with REDCAP, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, SPSS, and NVivo software is an asset.
  • The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication (oral/written) and organizational skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • The candidate will be detail-oriented, possess analytical thinking skills, and exercise initiative and good judgment.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask and produce high-quality, accurate work while meeting program deadlines.
  • The candidate requires the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Please Note: This full-time 12-month contract position is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit.

Salary Range$25.03 – $33.38 per hour
