Registered Nurse, Home Health – Palliative Nurse

– PALLIATIVE NURSE Community :KELOWNA Facility :CORPORATE OFFICE Status :CASUAL Position Summary If you are a compassionate person with great communication skills and the ability multitask, we have a wonderful career opportunity for you as a Palliative Home Health Nurse.

As the Home Health nurse, you will support the client’s achievement of safe realistic and reasonable goals by assessing, planning, coordinating, organizing, implementing, evaluating and transitioning nursing and other care services for the client.

Working in collaboration with the client, family and other care providers you will develop, implement and adapt a care plan, deliver direct care, assess service eligibility and provide care management to help clients manage their own care and navigate through the various services available within the community setting.

The successful candidate will be a critical thinker, strong communicator, advocate and able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary professional environment.

This position will cover all of the Central Okanagan, including Rutland, South, Central and West Kelowna Health units.

Hours of work are 08:30 to 16:30, 16:00 to 22:30, 23:00 to 07:00.

Shifts are rotating.

There is an on call component from 23:00 to 07:00.

This is a Casual opportunity.

Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements may vary from 0
– 37.5 hours per week.

Casual employment includes: short-notice, on-call availability; workload coverage during a temporary absence; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position.

Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions.
