Registered Dietitian


This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted December 18, 2018.

The Role:

Medcan is recruiting for a Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our growing high-performance clinical team. We are recruiting for an experienced and client focused professional with a great attitude.

The Accountabilities:

  • Conduct a concise 20-minute nutrition assessment with clients during their Annual Health Assessment
  • Analyze 24-hour food records/Food Frequency Questionnaires
  • Interpret blood test results when available
  • Review supplements, vitamins and minerals and advise accordingly
  • Address client questions, concerns and goals
  • Provide practical nutrition recommendations to improve clients’ nutrition status and help them achieve their goals
  • Prepare nutrition assessment report for clients
  • Keep abreast of current scientific nutrition information to better inform clients
  • Maintain client records and statistical data reports
  • Coordinate with other Clinic staff to ensure an exceptional delivery of service
  • Facilitate the flow of patients through the Clinic
  • Other Administrative tasks as needed: communication updates to the Nutrition Team and Flow Coordinators re: schedule, capacity, eligible clients and reporting stats
  • Participation in other initiatives such as Medcan’s Newsletter and Blog and nutrition-related staff programs
  • On-going development of the AHA (Annual Health Assessment) nutrition program at Medcan

The Requirements:

  • Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a clinical or outpatient setting
  • Experience working on a multidisciplinary team/in a clinic environment with a variety of client populations
  • Pediatric experience is an asset
  • Intermediate level skills in MS Office and MS Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This is a Casual role that is scheduled as-needed between Monday-Sunday. Weekend shifts are required in this role and can be scheduled during these times:

  • Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. -5 p.m. or 10.00 a.m.-6:30 p.m. or 9.00 a.m.-5.30 p.m.
  • Monday-Friday 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for lunch coverage
  • Saturday, Sunday 9.00 a.m.-4.00 p.m.
