This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted September 9, 2018.

Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: Thunder Bay, ON

Job Type: Temporary

Time: 8 AM – 9 PM

Our client is looking for a Pharmacist to fill a temporary position in Thunder Bay, ON beginning on 16th Oct, 2018 up until 10th Nov, 2018. You are expected to be a passionate individual, who can contribute to the growth and success of a highly professional team sharing our client’s vision.

You will execute day to day operations assisting Pharmacy Manager following pharmacy laws and procedures. In this role you will be accountable to provide superior patient care, recommend clients on the use and effects of pharmaceutical drugs, and ensure the accuracy of prescriptions. You are also expected to have a positive attitude to promote and deliver excellent customer service maintaining company standard.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement standard procedures for mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals to ensure quality.
  • Train other health care providers providing guidance and all important information.
  • Give flu shots and other vaccinations following proper procedures.
  • Maintain drug inventory levels by ordering necessary mediations and supplies, and verifying deliveries against purchase orders.
  • Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customer and communicate the dosage amount, adverse effects and other important indications.
  • Counsel patients on prescription medications and OTC products.
  • Keep records and do other administrative tasks.
  • Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations.


SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience working in a pharmacy
  • Experience with major pharmaceutical computer softwares will an asset
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skill
  • Innovative and creative in approach to address customer issues
