Status FTE: 1.000 Position Summary Working as part of the Mental Health Team, the successful candidate will support schools in navigating pathways to, through and from tertiary care or services.
The Mental Health Therapist will provide intensive short-term services for students who have complex mental health issues, provide students with individual and/or group counselling sessions and support schools and families to access community based resources.
Job Duties/Responsibilities collaborating with schools to determine the most appropriate mental health programming for students identified as having mental health needs taking a lead role in the development of treatment programs for students transitioning out of tertiary care services assisting schools to navigate tertiary care services for students supporting school staff with accommodating school environments to support students and their treatment needs supporting families experiencing mental health issues by attending appointments, liaising with service providers and providing information and recommendations providing crisis counselling to staff and students when crisis incidents affect health, safety and well-being of the school community including Hospital School Campuses designing and delivering student-focused professional learning sessions for schools Education/Qualifications undergraduate degree in a related program a minimum of three years related experience including knowledge and experience with students who have complex mental health issues excellent communication, collaboration and problem solving skills strong relationship building skills Rate of Pay $3,052.00 – $3,899.70 bi-weekly
