Tactical Security Field Support Officer – Toronto

Job Description Job Description Who are Field Support Officers?

Field Support Officers are members specifically assigned to the service team that are trained to work at the majority of our Class A sites.

They will be working alongside our mobile units during events that require a high caliber of thinking and experience.

Why a Field Support Officer?

As a Field Support Officer, they will be utilized to cover open shifts, or paid duty for various assignments.

Being located in Toronto while securing several locations in the heart of downtown Toronto, we have noticed the increase in crimes and property damage.

Our clients request an increased guard count at a moment’s notice.

There are times clients have requested level 3 tactically trained guards to be placed at their sites for days and weeks at a time.

The client has specific needs and requirements when protecting their assets.

They only want individuals that are above average.

To counter this request, as a security company we would deploy these field agents to address the clients need Going Above & Beyond The Field Support role is meant to over time become an integral part of the property’s day to day service offerings and delivery.

The service offerings will vary based on the property, its unique tenant base and the location’s customer needs.

This specific guard is meant to interact directly with the customers during their entire day.

Field Support Officer Program Logistics Know your property – Upon starting the job an FSO should be provided with adequate information about the property, location, building amenities, tenant group, area restaurants and attractions.

FSOs must be knowledgeable and able to give information and answers to customers about their location and immediate surroundings in the area.

Operating Hours – The shifts are full time, and in accordance with the team scheduler and Locating Commissioner Appearance – the FSOs will contribute to the overall first impression customers have when entering a building.

Therefore, their appearance and uniform are extremely important.

Both male and female guards should wear their full uniform.

Ideally the look should be uniformed and incorporate the property’s and/or Property Management colors if deemed necessary.

Paragon offers a selection of his & hers uniform article and equipment.

Training – FSOs should all be trained on property logistics, equipment uses, and systems use (where applicable such as access control systems, Eservus, etc.).

In addition, all FSOs should receive some form of Customer Service training.

Paragon offers a Customer Service course.

Additional Advance Security Practitioner training is recommended as that enables the guard to understand the Management culture, values and customer service mission.

Level 3 security training should also be provided so the guard knows what to do in the event of major emergencies such as Fire Alarm response, Medical Emergencies, Elevator Entrapment etc.

Specifically, what happens during these events and what is their role as a member of the Field Support Officer Team.

Also, when, why and how to dial 911 when necessary and the importance of ensuring that is done quickly during major emergencies.

In addition, basic awareness training should also be provided.

Specifically, the “See Something Say Something” mantra should be strongly reinforced with all new FSOs.

Major Functions, Tasks & Requirements Serve as a trained professional for various roles on these different sites Able to de-escalate situations as how base building guards would during an interaction with an individual who is not permitted to be on site Familiarize with building operating procedures such as Fire panel operations, P.A announcement, site evacuation procedures, Able to work ALL SHIFTS
– this means nights, afternoons & weekends Law Enforcement or a Police Foundations Diploma are also an asset Above Average Customer Service skills Team Players
– positive, honest, & motivated Above Average Computer skills Excellent Communication Skills
– English
– Written & Verbal Individuals over 25 years of age and with a full G license would be an asset but not limited to it Interested in a career in Law Enforcement?
