Claims Coordinator, Large Loss

Reporting to the Director of Claims, the successful candidate will provide administrative support to our head office claims team located in downtown Toronto. This department handles the large and complex claims for all lines of business within RSA.

What you will achieve in this role

• As a true professional and an excellent communicator you will liaise with customers, brokers, business partners and senior leaders with ease.
• This opportunity will enhance your project management and presentation skills as you take the lead in facilitating meetings with the large loss property team, including, task tracking, data collection and analysis and trend and opportunity identification. You will also facilitate regular and structured communication of results to key stakeholders throughout the organization.
• Utilizing your advanced organization and coordinating skills you will be responsible for the preparation and scheduling of regular and ad hoc meetings. You are extremely comfortable using a variety of tools and technologies as you will prepare and distribute large loss agendas and forms, month end commentary reports, indemnity savings reports and conduct weekly reconciliation of large loss reserves.
• You will play a role in managing Governance, which includes logging monthly control reports, maintain training, hospitality, complaint and conflict logs where you would report as required and maintain claims license database for head office claims team.
• You have a sense of urgency and collaborate well with your team, colleagues and senior management in the business while responding to information requests from internal and external clients and customers
• You will coordinate audits, including file retrieval, systems access and room booking.
• Keeping commitments is important to you, you are open to change and enjoy creating process solutions. Your administrative experience will be applied as you are responsible for client and broker inquiries, mail, photocopying, travel arrangements, expense reports and other clerical duties and adhoc requests.

What you bring to this role

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast paced and high volume environmnet
• Customer focused and capable of communicating with employees of all levels
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities;
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills and excellent email etiquette
• Superior organizational skills coupled with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently; resourceful with strong problem solving skills
• High level of integrity, ethics and professionalism; must be able to handle all confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
• Previous experience or knowledge of Insurance and claims is beneficial
• Ability to communicate in French is an asset
• Post-Secondary degree or diploma
