Health and Safety Coordinator

Energy Network Services Inc.

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted May 13, 2018.

Job Description


  • Assist in overseeing the Health and Safety program for the company
  • Coordinate and conduct site inspections, safety meetings, project safety orientation
  • Monitor and handle the performance of internal staff and subcontractors on safe work procedures and utilization of proper protective equipment and practices
  • Conduct regular and random site audits and provide related reports for trends analysis
  • Investigate all accidents, incidents and near misses and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Work cordially with Management to implement and improve the entire health and safety program
  • Complete all health and safety reports in a timely manner including but not limited to WSIB and OH&S forms and ensure accidents and incidents are properly reported
  • Actively participate and lead the Joint Health and Safety committees and field employee meetings
  • Maintain, learn and enforce the Health and Safety regulations, policies, practices and procedures
  • Act as a governing liaison with external clients including government, subcontractors, management, WSIB and workers in relation to health and safety


  • 3-5 experience in construction health and safety is an asset
  • Diploma in Occupation Health and Safety
  • Knowledge in Certificate of Recognition (COR) program is beneficial
  • Up to date in Ontario Health and Safety legislation
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Displays organizational skills
  • Communicates and interacts effectively with internal staff, office visitors, clients and vendors
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and time management skill, with the ability to efficiently attend to tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer proficiency, with emphasis on MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is mandatory
  • Knowledgeable in other provincial Health and Safety regulations is beneficial
